The perfect place for a woman on the run to disappear…
Accused of a horrific murder she didn't commit, former heiress Callie Ward has been a fugitive since she was sixteen—until she found the perfect hideout, Club Dominion. Little does she know that his reasons for not getting involved have everything to do with his wounded heart…and his consuming desire for her.
To live out her wildest fantasies…
Enter Sean Kirkpatrick, a Dom who's recently come to Dominion and taken a pointed interest in Callie. Hoping to make Thorpe jealous, she submits to Sean one shuddering sigh at a time. It isn't long before she realizes she's falling for him too. But the tender lover who's slowly seducing her body and earning her trust isn't who he claims…
And to fall in love.
When emotions collide and truths are exposed, Sean is willing to risk all to keep Callie from slipping through his fingers. But he's not the only man looking to stake a claim. Now Callie is torn between Sean and Thorpe, and though she's unsure whom she can trust, she'll have to surrender her body and soul to both—if she wants to elude a killer…

Shayla Black continues her Wicked Lovers series with THEIRS TO CHERISH. While this is the eighth book in the series, it reads quite well as a standalone novel. I liked the book. It was a great love story that was created out of survival and learning to trust.
The story had an intriguing plot, with just the right amount of suspense that never dominated the romantic relationship. I was swept up in the romance part of the story, though I did feel that something was missing. What was it? I think it was that the suspense wasn't as strong as in previous books. There was never any real resolution, no confrontation, or throw down of any kind. Not that I saw. It's all good though. I got the feeling this was something left to play out in the next book maybe.
I did love the book for the romance, the hot MFM lovin' and the vibrant characters that drew me into the story in the first place. Everybody has a story. A past with secrets that have a way of coming out, no matter how hard you bury them. Past secrets are what supplies the conflict here. It kept the story flowing at a smooth pace, with a palpable sense of anticipation of what was to come.
A good deal of time was spent on THE CHASE, and then on a houseboat where the three lovers hid out from the big bads. Now, this was time well spent, mind you. It was a time of bonding, with some scorching hot menage scenes. It had that extra special something...two large and in-charge Doms trying their best to tame their woman. I enjoyed that part. I liked being kept on the edge. Right up until the end, there was the question of whether or not Thorpe would make the right choice.
Callie, who I think we can all agree on this, had been a brat in at least one of the previous books. At first, I didn't like her very much. Here we see that first impressions can be deceptive. She was much different in this book. She was a survivor, resourceful and spunky. I ended up liking her. I have to say that I absolutely adored Sean. He was steadfast in his support, and he put a lot on the line for Callie.
Now, Thorpe, who I was sure would be THE MAN. Not so much for me. He wanted Callie, yet he was afraid to grab hold of her, while Sean was just the opposite. He took what he wanted, though he was willing to share. It made for some titillating reading. I loved the part where the two heroes ride in to save the day, too. All in all, there was plenty to love about this book.
I would say that THEIRS TO CHERISH is a fine continuation to the Wicked Lovers series. I loved it! I recommend it to anyone looking for a book that has some suspense to go along with the steamy romance. It's a great read! I'm giving it 5 stars.
