SUMMARY
Romance is the last thing on reporter Skylar Shaw's mind when she covers a plane crash on a Florida beach. Her best source could be a mysterious Italian man, but he's strictly off the record—unless it involves indulging their electrifying attraction to each other. Little does Skylar know, but that crash is only the beginning.
Luca Rossi is hiding a big secret: He's a journalist, too, and his anonymous exposé on the Mafia destroyed his world. Now, after lonely years on the run, he will do anything to possess this vulnerable American beauty. But Skylar is as relentless as the Florida glare, and the situation ignites when she reports on a gruesome murder in a swamp. Soon erotic nights will bleed into dangerous days, and nowhere will be safe from the heat.

HOT SHADE by Tamara Lush was an overall good read. It didn't quite suck me in from the very beginning, but in the end I did enjoy Skylar and Luca's story as it slowly started to pick up pace.
Skylar is a tenacious reporter hungry for success and when a plane crashes in the area, Skylar is determined to get the story. What she didn't count on was getting Luca Rossi, a hunky Italian with a thick accent and surrounded by a cloud of mystery. And all reporters love mystery right? Luca needs to keep his anonymity. He needs to keep his identity hidden. But when Skylar comes around asking questions he's both annoyed and intrigued by her and in the end these two just can't stay away from each other.
Unfortunately I never quite liked Skylar's character. Even though she was determined and persistent, she didn't strike me as strong and seemed a little flimsy at times. Luca, on the other hand, pulled me right in as his sexuality just jumped off the pages. Everything he does is so seductive, so sensual that I really wished the author would have made Skylar just a little more sensual and confident in order for the sparks to fly between these two characters.
The love scenes were definitely hot and Luca is quite the attentive lover. Some of the scenes had me fanning myself since Luca is just so damn hot and clearly knows how to please a woman. But there were also scenes that lacked passion as the author concentrated more on the descriptive side of the sex than the emotional side.
I like that we get different point of views. I always prefer multiple POV's since I often wonder what the other characters are thinking, and the author did a great job with giving the reader insight into the minds of the other parties involved.
Overall I enjoyed HOT SHADE since it has a good dose of suspense and mystery with a storyline that manages to keep it interesting.
HOT SHADE is a sexy and enjoyable read, and gets a 3 star rating from me.
