The description for ESCAPE by Belle Ami is that it's "a sexy romantic thriller with a focus on the dangers of a nuclearized Middle East." But it is so much more. I felt as though I was watching an international suspense thriller slowly unfold as Layla goes from Harvard student on vacation with her boyfriend in Dubai to potential bargaining chip between countries eager to destroy the other.

And in between, there is absolute poetry, such as, "Why did this slip of a girl have him dreaming of poetry? He suspected he would be happy to suck on her lips for hours, days, weeks, maybe forever without growing tired. He felt himself swept away by a wave, the closest thing to drowning he had ever experienced. His breath stopped, his heart stopped, and time ceased to pass."

There are so many amazing descriptions in this story that I could fill this review and easily have you panting for more. Ms. Ami's ability to craft attraction and seduction between Cyrus and Layla is outstanding. The worlds she creates—both Layla's (Harvard/Dubai) and Cyrus' (especially his)—are what gives this story the strength it needs in the international thriller genre with a hefty dose of romance and erotica.

This story is suspenseful, it's smart, it's sexy, it's a page-turner that you will be loathed to put down.
