I've been reading romance since I was twelve. The first one I ever read belonged to my sister. She'd gotten it from our cousins, who'd discovered it who knows where. It was The Flame and the Flower, by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. I was hooked. As I'd inherited a love of history from my father, I was enthralled by Ms. Woodiwiss's ability to bring the reader into the time she wrote about. A whole world opened up for me then. Not only in regard to historical romance, but contemporary as well. I soon discovered Harlequin and Silhouette--small, contemporary romances that I could read in a day or two.
Now, years later, I'm writing the type of stories I love to read. My historicals are set in the Argyll region of Scotland in the early 13th century and my contemporaries are set in Texas, where I've lived my whole life.
