Author and artist Mary Montague Sikes has always loved painting and writing. After earning an MFA in painting from Virginia Commonwealth University, her art career took a detour while she tried her hand at crafting romance novels. A freelance writer with hundreds of published articles, Sikes soon discovered that getting published in romance was much harder than she thought. Eventually, her first novel, Hearts Across Forever, was released. Many books later, her newest romance, Dragonfly in the Evening, features an artist as the heroine. She plans to create an exhibition of new paintings to go with the book. A native Virginian, Sikes lives in a small Tidewater town in a setting similar to Jefferson City in her last two books.
Sikes loves baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and she and her husband go to Jupiter FL each year for Spring Training. She enjoys photography and taking pictures at various National Parks throughout the country. She and her husband spend as much time as possible traveling. Her coffee table book, Hotels to Remember, tells about some of her favorite places to visit.
