Natasha Ahmed's a pen name. In real life, I'm a graphic designer, I hate socialising in general, so the pen name's a blessing in more ways than one. I'm married, no kids but 3 cats who don't like it when I write. They like my keyboard and routinely drape themselves over it. I live in Karachi, Pakistan, though I travelled a lot as a child (UK, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, where I was born). English is my first language, but I am a big fan of Urdu literature and poetry.
I love reading, but it wasn't until my publisher, Indireads, sent out a call for writers from South Asia that I actually tried to write a book. Now that I have, I have a new respect for authors who put together full-length novels. It's a gruelling job! But the result has been 'Butterfly Season'.
