ABOUT ME
Novio in English means boyfriend. My memoir, while not strictly a romance novel, is all about romance. Its dedicated to Carlos, Still My Novio. Its about how I met him when he was a poor teeager, and I was a 33-year old confused fake-adult, buying time in Mexico. I hope youll check it out!

Im a Philadelphia-born writer living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico since 1992.
I write about raising a bicultural family with her Mexican husband in One Big Happy Family: 18 Writers Talk about Polyamory, Househusbandry, Mixed Marriage, Open Adoption and Other Realities of Truly Modern Love, edited by Rebecca Walker (Riverhead Books, 2009).
Selections from my memoir, Flirting in Spanish are included in Mexico: A Love Story (Seal Press, 2006); Not What I Expected, The Unpredictable Road from Womanhood to Motherhood (Paycock Press, 2007), SportsLiterate literary magazine (sportliterate.com, spring, 2009), salonmagazine.com (1999) and elevenbulls.com (2000).
My personal essays and fiction appear in The Hawk Will Never Die, Tales from St. Josephs Hardwood (Sports Publishing, 2005), Philadelphia Stories (philadelphiastories.org, 2006) and The San Miguel Writer (1994). My essay on bicultural living was broadcast on National Public Radio (2000).
Im an award-winning former television news reporter for WEAU-TV, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and WISC-TV, Madison, Wisconsin.
My blog about living and writing in Mexico is

While I can pronounce many difficult words in Spanish, I have yet to master the skill of uncapping a Corona bottle with a seat belt buckle, a feat my Mexican husband can perform.
I read and write. Does that make me a dull girl? Not when Im writing about LOOOOVE!
I love my Tae Kwon Do class. I love my friends and the new gals Ive been meeting in book clubs! I love my kids and their horses. I try to ride dressage. My teenaged girls are enormously talented, and I try not to embarrass them.
