Even the best-laid plans can go awry.
Single-mom Kiersten Worth knows a bottle of champagne and night of hot, no-strings-attached sex is the perfect solution to her jilted bride blues…and Garrett Kelly, long-time friend and her teenaged son's sexy basketball coach, is just the stud for the job.
Garrett wants more from the elusive temptress than a casual affair, but he never expects it to come in the form of an unexpected pregnancy. When he proposes an unorthodox solution—move in and raise their baby together—Kiersten has to decide whether to let down her guard and open her heart to the man who secretly loved her for years, or risk losing his tender embrace for good.

PLAY ME is the third book in the Take a Chance series from Diane Alberts. It is a great follow up to the previous books, Try Me and Love Me. It is a sweet romance about two lifelong friends who share a one night stand that brings a surprise that will bring them even closer.
Garrett and Kiersten had grown up together and became good friends. While Garrett has always had a crush on her, Kiersten is afraid of love. She knows how much heartache loving someone inevitably brings. She has lost a lot in the past—her parents, her sister who died not long after having the son that Kiersten is raising as her own, and her cheating fiancé. Now she is a single mom, raising her nephew on her own, but she seemed a bit lonely to me. On the anniversary of what would've been her wedding day, Kiersten decides it's time she moved on, and what better way than a night of no strings sex with sexy Garrett, the man her smarmy ex felt threatened by.
Garret was happy to take her up on her offer, but his feelings are hurt when he realized it was only revenge sex for Kiersten. He storms out and tries to get some space between them. Only, three months later, Kiersten shows up at his place to tell him that she is having his baby. Garrett is happy and wants to be a father to their baby and to Kiersten's adopted son, Chris.
They decide to raise the children as a family, while living together as friends. Garrett privately plans on using this chance to earn Kiersten's trust and hopes she falls in love with him. The plan had a flaw; they can't keep their hands off each other, but the closer Garrett gets to breaking down Kiersten's walls, the harder she pushes him away.
The story had a lot of personal conflict with feelings being hurt by both of the main characters. Though I felt sorry for Garrett ‘cause he was such a great guy, and Kiersten kept freezing him out. He tried so hard and I kinda felt like he deserved more.
The book was well written with characters that I could like. I liked the author's writing style and the way the story flowed made for a quick read. I enjoyed it a great deal and I am happy to recommend it to others.
