Ever fantasized what it would be like to be married to an international rock star? It's not all glitz and glamour in Ms Salisbury's 3rd installment of the Tudor Dynasty series!
When former Tudor Rose band mate Johnny Roberts breaks into Zara and Amadeus Tudor's home, and threatens Zara and their infant daughter Elizabeth, Zara kills him in self-defense. As she struggles to come to terms with taking a man's life, her sister-in-law Julia hatches a plan for the Tudor brothers, Amadeus, Angus and her husband Damien, to tour together.
Zara is used to being Amadeus' manager, so it's tough for her to take the boss lady hat off and play second fiddle to Julia, especially when she knows the bitch is up to something. Listening to the advice of the Tudor family, Zara agrees to let Julia's plan unfold, giving the devious woman a chance to hang herself. To protect herself and her baby, Zara takes Elizabeth into hiding while Amadeus works to find out just what Julia is up to. Forced to deal with her destruction as well as a huge surprise from Amadeus' past, follow the Tudors as they attempt to juggle the newest craziness in their rock and roll lives.
TUDOR REUNION TOUR is the third installment in the Tudor Dynasty series. I don't recommend trying to read this one on its own, as this is a serial series and could be quite confusing. Having not read the first 2 books in the series, I was completely lost before I did some research and found out what the others were about. I found this book to be extremely dry and rather long-winded (I truly didn't need to know, in detail, how Zara decided how many diapers to take with her when she disappeared).
I enjoyed the family dynamics of this book however, and the scenes with Grace and Peter were some of my favorites. I also liked how Ms Salisbury changed the point of view between Zara and Amadeus frequently, as it gave the book a unique feel. I liked Amadeus a lot, he's clearly desperately in love with his family and will do whatever it takes to keep them safe and healthy. Zara is awesome; she's a kick-ass heroine who is 100% confident and capable. And their few sex scenes scattered throughout were sweet and passionate, you can absolutely feel the love.
That said, I was still left with a lot of questions as to the whole Julia plan. I couldn't grasp who knew what and when, and Zara's own plan never made a lot of sense to me. Additionally, there were numerous typos in this book that, depending on your personal level of annoyance with such things, could be really distracting (for instance, is it Ashley or Ashleigh?).
The book ends wide open for the next installment, which I have to admit I'm not eager to check out. Overall, TUDOR REUNION TOUR just didn't do it for me.
