MASTERING ANGELA is an erotic romance novel filled with smokin' hot BDSM sex and a little bit of intrigue that may have you grabbing a few hot friends and looking at real estate options in Passion Peak, Colorado.
After Angela Davidson finally breaks up with her longtime cheating boyfriend, she's thrilled that Nash Stonecraft, owner of the BDSM club Indulgence, invites her to come to the club alone. She's had such a crush on the big bad Dom for a long time and is hopeful that she can convince him to teach her the ropes. But fellow Dom and Nash's good friend Ian Malloy is also interested in Angela, and the men's jealousy flares hot and bright even though they agree to share her.
As the men teach Angela the joys of submission, she has to be careful to guard her heart from these two dominant and beautiful men. Nash knows his heart is in trouble with the charismatic little spitfire, but hell if he cares, he's been lonely long enough. Can the men get over their jealousy and can Angela get over her fear of commitment and give their budding relationship a chance?
MASTERING ANGELA is book 2 in the Passion Peak, Colorado series. Like the first in the series, Seducing Carma, this book is more "eh" than "oooooh!" There's nothing particularly exciting nor horrible about MASTERING ANGELA. I did enjoy how the relationship between Nash, Ian and Angela progressed, though at times I felt like the men were attempting to tone down Angela's spirited attitude.
I also had a hard time believing that Angela wasn't more brokenhearted about her breakup, especially since she was with the guy for ten years. While her feelings on the matter definitely played a part in her reluctance to get involved in a relationship again, she just didn't act like a woman whose longtime boyfriend publicly humiliated her. Likewise, I wish I could've had more background information on both Ian and Angela, as there were a lot of things that weren't entirely clear to me.
The mystery and suspense element of the book was well done, but I felt there could've been more of it woven throughout the story. The one shining grace in this book was the yummy BDSM sex. I loved all of the scenes, especially when all three of them played together. All in all, MASTERING ANGELA wasn't a bad book, it was just a little unexciting and lackluster.
