Nothing can stop freelance thief Sasha Smirnov from saving her planet -- except, Dirk, the gorgeous ambassador with polychrome eyes. Is it lust or designer pheromones? He is hot, too hot to resist -- or forget. A single, sizzling kiss burns him into her memory, and her body, but she can't afford to stop for passion, let alone love.

Sasha needs to get as far away from Dirk as possible and take the classified data she stole with her. So she stows away on a ship outward bound, only to discover Dirk's the pilot. Now she can't get away from him, or the system, but he will let her into his bed...

From the first scene to the final showdown, this is a thrill a minute story set in a fantastically detailed spaceship, that will, I promise, leave you breathless. With a blisteringly hot main couple and an adventure of galactic proportions, this book is an excellent escape from Earth as we know it.

Sasha Smirnov is on the run from interstellar Pinkerton detectives and unable to trust anyone. Desperate, she stows away on a spaceship piloted by the devastatingly handsome Dirk Roscoepilot. Having already used Dirk to escape the Pinkertons once, Sasha finds herself in the unwelcome position of knowing the one man she can't forget is the same one who may have already betrayed her to the dark forces chasing her down.

But Sasha's mission is bigger than even her obsession with Dirk--without the information she has, her planet is doomed, and she will be at the mercy of a ruthless drug lord who has already made her life a living hell. Even if she finds Dirk irresistible, she can't risk his betrayal--or her growing feelings for him. So Sasha flees once again, into a world that is larger and more complex than she could ever have guessed.

This story caught me off guard. Just when I thought the story was simply about Sasha and Dirk's rendezvous onboard the space ship, there was suddenly a world of adventure and danger to discover as Sasha sets out on her own. The plot became more involved and the writers' imaginations really took off.

The only drawback for me was the lack of development in either of the two main characters or in their relationship. Given the turbulent circumstances under which both Sasha and Dirk are introduced, it would have been nice to learn a bit more about them or to see how they grew as a result of their partnership. There is no doubt at all that they are compatible and companionable, but the relationship seemed so heavily physical that I missed out on much else between them. There were also a few elements of the genre that seemed a little cliché to me, but they did add some humorous moments, as well.

T.C. Archer is the pen name of an award-winning writing pair, and there is no question that their world-building skills are top notch. I could picture the ship in all its complexity, and the other locations in the book had excellent details that made them feel very real, even while they were completely fantastical. This book was completely different from what I usually read, so while I did feel at times like I had walked into this new world without a map, I enjoyed the adventure. It was certainly a complete escape from reality, and I really appreciated the creativity that it took to create the world in which Sasha and Dirk got up to all their hijinx!
