Book 2 of Xxan War
Erotic Romance, Romantic Science Fiction/Futuristic

Zondra Daahn has hit her quickening with no warning. She's on the prowl for a male to sate her, unwilling to wait for a Xxan-mix male to be sent to her. Evan Duncan is just the overbearing, alpha male she needs. There are a few little problems, of course. She's the Fleet Admiral's goddaughter, and the powerful sex pheromones of her quickening may permanently tie Evan to her.

A Xxannian female has never mated with a human before, and Evan isn't willing to take that chance that he can't ripen her and give her children. If the only way Zondra can have a full life is to do so without him, that's the way it's going to be. Damn the dreams of her driving him insane. If he can convince himself not to stop by just to make sure she's okay, this plan can work...can't it?

Not if Zondra and her family have anything to say about it. She wants Evan, and the scientists at S.L.A.L. say there's a way. Like all the females of her race, she will have the man she wants, no matter what she has to do to get him.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, sex while under clinical observation.

Brenna Lyons penned a luscious sci-fi romance that's sure to steam your ears and more.

Purebred Xxan Zondra's mating urge has come upon her and she went to a club to find the proper Dominant to sate her need. She found him in Evan Duncan, a human, who seemed as eager for her as she was for him. But would whatever they have for each other survive a separation and a murder?

The wars were over, and Xxan and humans live together in harmony, to the extent that crossbreeds have been produced. The world building was awesome, quite original, and the author also came up with unique Xxan terms that lend authenticity to the story, though it's also a bit of a deterrent to try to pronounce them, since I'm not Xxanian. However, it was fascinating to know about the Xxan's family structure and culture.

The heat between Zondra and Evan was palpable and whew! I seriously need ice to cool me down. Zondra emits these potent pheromones that drive a man crazy. Now, wouldn't that be useful! Can I put in an order for one? LOL Yet, even as Evan was overwhelmed with lust for her, he was careful not to hurt her, his main thought to care for and protect her.

The ending scenes were rife with action and suspense, as I read with bated breath to see what would happen to our characters. An HEA is a sure bet, this being a romance, but how would it come about when Evan has committed a terrible deed, albeit in defense of Zondra?

An erotic romance, this book is true to its genre with the profuse number of sex scenes in the book, that are, as mentioned above, steamy enough to melt ice. The chemistry between Zondra and Evan sizzled, as they just cannot get enough of each other. But underneath all the lust is care and love that grew over the time that they spent together.
