Fantasy Romance, Vamps & Shifters Romance
One hundred years after vampires revealed themselves to the masses, the world is still recovering from the hysteria and war that devastated much of the Earth. And though peace has been brokered between the human and vampire nations, it is tumultuous at best.
Orphaned at the age of ten, Coraline Conwell has struggled to survive a turbulent existence growing up alone on the harsh streets. Until a wealthy man provides an escape from her vagrant life by offering his hand in marriage. Out of place in the upper-crust world, Cora has done her best to adapt to her new role as wife, but when her husband is brutally murdered, she is ripped from her secure life at the hands of the Vampire Enforcement Agency.
Now her survival teeters on the whim of a brutally handsome vampire named Mason as she is hunted by those who would see her dead. She must keep unwanted desires for the sexy vampire from leading her down a dangerous path while she discovers there is more to this world, and herself, than she could have ever imagined.

The first in a new paranormal series, this book is a mesmerizing read with some unique elements that arouses the curiosity. Cora's husband is brutally murdered and she is ripped from her secure life at the hands of the Vampire Enforcement Agency.
This steady-to-fast-paced and smooth flowing plot keeps the readers quivering in anticipation with lots of suspense, action, drama and romance. The well-written words and details capture the imagination and the well-orchestrated action scenes are believable and make the reader feel as if they are part of the action. The strong compelling characters are easily understood and draw the reader deeper into the story and have them wanting to know more.
The chemistry between Cora and Mace is undeniable and sizzle with lots of red hot passion and the sex scenes are hot and steamy but the relationship has quite a few obstacles to be overcome--Cora's past, the people out to kill her and another vampire that would rather see her dead even as he craves her, just to name a few. The author brings these characters to life with a vibrant intensity that grabs the reader's attention and doesn't let go from beginning to end.
The world created by the author is intriguing with some refreshingly different elements that add spice to the story and the fact that the world is aware of vampires in her world also adds depth to the story. There are also some surprises that the reader doesn't see coming and the enchanted cottage where Mace takes Cora sends chills up the reader's spine and hides a few surprises as well.
While the story ends with a cliffhanger (Man, what a place to end the story!), I found the thrilling story to be enjoyable and entertaining and I can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens with Cora and her two vampires.
