EDGE OF SURRENDER is the 2nd installment to Alpha Crew (1st installment: At The Edge). Alpha Crew is actually a new series by Laura Griffin, featuring a secret elite team of SEALs who made up the Alpha Crew.

This installment continues right where the first left off, when Ryan discovers Emma missing. He and Jake (a fellow Alpha Crew) pull out all the stops to find her...

Here, the romance played out to its natural conclusion. The suspense did too, and there were some surprising (not really) reveals that filled in the missing pieces of the puzzle. While the reader is essentially satisfied at the clearing up of the mystery and the bad guys were put behind bars, I did feel that the suspense part was a bit protracted. When the car chase ended and I turned to the next page, I was surprised that that's it? Could this be due to the division of the story into two parts?

That said, I enjoyed this a lot, and I'm looking forward to the next book by Laura Griffin.
