When Frederica Beauchamp boards a ship for the Americas, she dreams of a life filled with adventure, but she gets more than she bargained for when her passenger ship is attacked by pirates. The heartless men kidnap her and force her to serve their captain—a fate that might be worse than death, since though he does not have his way with her, the captain delights in baring her, shaming her, and thrashing her bare bottom as punishment for every imagined disobedience.
It will take a dashing French pirate to save her, but once Frederica gains her freedom will she surrender to her liberator in the hopes of capturing his heart?

In RESCUED BY THE BUCCANEER, author Normandie Alleman provides a lively pirate tale complete with an eye patch and sword fights. The author makes sure the two main characters are faced with a number of challenges, ranging from being thrown in the brig to having to walk the plank.
It's terror on the high seas when the ship carrying Frederica Beauchamp is overtaken by pirates. The lovely young woman is forced to provide medical services for the crew under the direction of the captain while maintaining her innocence.
When the pirate ship picks up a floating passenger, Frederica is instantly attracted to him. Little does she know that Gaston Galette is a pirate himself--and he is ready to be reunited with his ship.
The storyline moves along well, particularly focusing on the growth of Frederica as she matures into a woman who knows what she wants. Gaston is the epitome of a swashbuckling pirate, yet he displays loving and caring traits.
Although it is a quick read, RESCUED BY THE BUCCANEER proved to be entertaining and had just the right amount of spice to guarantee that this is definitely not a childhood pirate tale.
