Erotic Romance, Western Romance
He rode into town to buy supplies, not a woman.
For hunted recluse Rafe McBride, the raven-haired beauty on the auction block is exactly what he doesn't need. A dependent woman will be another clue his vengeful stepbrother can use to find and kill him. But Rafe's conscience won't let him leave another innocent's virginity to the riff-raff bidding. He buys her, promising to return her to St. Louis untouched. He only prays the impending blizzard holds off before her sultry beauty breaks his willpower.
She wanted freedom, not a lover.
Whisked to the auction block by her devious, gambling cousin, and then sold into the arms of a gorgeous stranger, outspoken artist Maggie Monroe isn't about to go meekly. Especially when the rugged mountain man looks like sin and danger rolled into one. But a blizzard and temptation thrust them together, and Maggie yearns to explore her smoldering passion for Rafe.
But when the snow clears, will the danger and secrets that surround Rafe and Maggie tear them apart?

Freedom. Isn't that what everyone needs? In RAFE'S REDEMPTION, neither Maggie nor Rafe have what they want, but think they have what they need. Once their lives are intertwined, they find out what they really need.
Neither one wanted the other, but circumstances thrust them together. Recluse Rafe McBride only comes to town to sell his pelts and buy supplies. He'd rather spend his time up in the mountains, trapping and hiding from his past.
Maggie Monroe, her virginity about to auctioned off to settle her stepbrother's gambling debt, vows to get free somehow. Freedom is all she's ever wanted. To be sold off like cattle infuriates her and she worries what the local men will do with her. When Rafe purchases her, she plots to use his honor to escape. But when the time comes, will she?
While they fight their mutual attraction, Rafe and Maggie face other challenges of their time. Befriending a mixed heritage couple and ultimately helping them could get them the death penalty. Maggie feels hemmed in by being a woman without standing, but with Rafe's help, realizes it doesn't have to be a cage.
Most of the book takes place in Rafe's cabin, and you get a good sense of the look and feel of his place. With the unusual nooks and crannies, it made me want to explore his space a bit more. You could picture yourself there in front of the fire, eating and living along with them
There are lots of steamy scenes in RAFE'S REDEMPTION, so if you are faint of heart, take caution. Some are downright crude and graphic, while others are sweet and you get swept up into the moment. It seems from the beginning they are lusting after each other, and Maggie doesn't seem too bewildered by it, even though she is a virgin. Although the romance is a bit rough around the edges, the love story is there. A worthwhile read.
