Against all odds, the Sorentino sisters saved their family's rundown New Mexico ranch, but the youngest has a dream that just may ruin their hard-earned peace--unless a certain sexy cowboy lawyer changes her mind. . .

Jenna Sorentino is as independent as they come. Despite her wild past, she's grown up enough to keep quiet about the identity of her baby's daddy, go to night college--and hide her plan to escape tiny Catcher Creek. She's also stopped dreaming of happily ever after--except in the case of gorgeous, rugged, Santa Fe native Matt Roenick. Too bad the oil rights attorney acts like he barely knows she's alive. . .

Matt knows only too well that Jenna's alive--in fact, she's driving him crazy with desire. But Matt's got his reasons for resisting her. And when her son's father shows up, those reasons multiply. Trouble is, Jenna's secrets are more complicated than he imagined, and forgetting her isn't as easy as he'd hoped. Matt knows life can be messy as hell. For Jenna, maybe it's time he got dirty. . .

In HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN, the third book of the Catcher Creek series, the former wild-child baby sister and the straight-laced attorney finally stop dancing around each other and go for it, to some very sexy results!

Jenna Sorentino isn't ashamed of her wild past. After all, even though her son wasn't expected, she wouldn't trade him for the world. She did trade raising hell for raising a good kid, and it was a decision she's never regretted…just like the decision she made not to divulge the father to anyone, even her family. Jenna has her reasons for being secretive, but one thing she's not shy about is her attraction to oil-rights attorney Matt Roenick. Unfortunately, despite her flirting, he barely knows she exists!

Oh, Matt knows Jenna exists all right, in fact his world narrows to just her and her son Tommy when they're near. Matt has some very good reasons for resisting Jenna's overtures, and even though it near kills him not to take what she's offering, he simply cannot get involved with another single mother.

But all of Matt's internal protests can't hold a candle to his body's reaction when Jenna is around, and the two find themselves moving quickly toward an extremely domestic situation. But Jenna's secrets come back to haunt her when her son's father comes back to town hell bent on trouble. Jenna and Matt will have some serious decisions to make, and Matt will have to figure out whether Jenna's messy past is too much for him to overcome or if he's man enough to handle it.

HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN is the third book in the Catcher Creek series by the talented Melissa Cutler featuring the strong and independent Sorentino women. This story centers around Jenna, the youngest sister and former all around bad girl gone good. There were things about this book that I didn't care for, but overall I found this was a decent addition to the Catcher Creek series.

First, I absolutely loved Jenna, and as a mother myself, I could relate to her fierce need to protect her son at any and all costs. Many of us have those wild child pasts yet grow up when kids enter the picture, making her character most relatable and one that I could root for. It was a bit frustrating that she kept her schooling a secret from everyone, even her sisters, but deep down I suppose I can understand why she needed to keep that to herself. Matt, on the other hand, just didn't impress me. On the surface he's pretty much perfect, but I had a difficult time connecting with such an eye-rollingly (for my taste) ideal man. Sweet, sensitive, romantic, endearing, loves kids, wants a family ASAP...the list goes on. Give me someone a little more damaged and rough around the edges (like bad boy Jake…yummy!). Regardless of my personal lead character preferences, Matt will make you say awwww! a lot and some of you wish for your own perfect stepdad specimen.

Unlike Cowboy Justice (book 2 in this series), HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN had very little suspense or drama in it, though Jenna's baby daddy Carson's return certainly had tongues wagging. I don't want to get much into the details of his return, but it was clear that she made good decisions regarding keeping Tommy away from him. I hope you enjoy discovering the history between the two of them as much as I did.

The sex in HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN was definitely hot. I really liked that Matt turned into a rougher Alpha version of himself when sex was involved--that was really the only time I thought that the two of them were absolutely compatible and good for one another. His desperate personality and frequent woe-is-me attitude were at odds with his confident sex star persona, sure, but it was still nicely steamy! While I wish there was a bit more conflict and suspense, HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN was a well-written book and a decent addition to the Catcher Creek series. I hope that Ms. Cutler continues this series with stories about some of the other drool-worthy characters we've met!
