Revenge is a powerful thing and that's exactly what she wants. He wants to protect her but he knows the only way is to take her back to Columbia. Will they survive the drug war or will they lose their lives?

Wow, I can't believe the amount of action and suspense that this story had. I couldn't put this book down, not for one minute, and just when I thought I had a stopping point, something else happened and there was no way I could walk away. It was a captivating read that was fast paced with very interesting characters. This genre and storyline is right up my all time favorite. I love it especially when it has to do with problems that we are facing today, and what men and women do in order for us to live in a safer place.

Ms. Alexander's writing style is clear and very descriptive. It made me feel like I was with them in the treacherous jungle fighting the insects, the tarantula, oh and how could I forget about the anaconda. Now let's start with the good stuff and give you a little insight into this amazing story.

Tyrell "Ty" Castillo is on a mission to extract Ana Maria Vega Cisneros and light up a drug cartel compound. Ana has been waiting years to avenge her parents' death, and now this delicious man is hauling her out of the compound and will not go back to see if Manny Ortega is dead. I love how both in the first and in this book, it is referred that Ty looks like the hottie in Criminal Minds, Shemar Moore. Yum, yum, if that is who he resembles, I want a piece of him. But let's go on with the story. Both Ty and Ana have this intense chemistry, but they are in the middle of the jungle trying to get to safety. Along the way, they cross paths not only with thick foliage but insects and, can you believe it, an anaconda. When I read that part, I felt squeamish. But finally they get to where they are supposed to be picked up, but it ends tragically.

Once Ana is in the United States, she doesn't know if she wants to go to Dallas, but where else is she going to go? Ty has been held up in Columbia but once he was able to roam free, he went to look for Ana. Something in him was seeking her out; he wanted to make sure that she was okay and safe and...what if she had moved on? Just when you think that everything is okay, someone from Columbia shows up and Ana is fighting for her life. I could not believe that she didn't call Ty and tell him what was happening, but at least she called someone that was linked to Ty.

Ty knows that he needs to get Ana to a safe house but it seems that even there, their lives are threatened. I could not believe that the drug cartel was able to find Ana in the safe house. The only explanation that there could be was that they had a mole, but who could it be? Ana knew what she had to do but she knew it was going to be hard to get away from Ty. She needed to get back to Colombia and find Manny Ortega. Could Ty and Ana catch a break and figure out what in the heck is happening and bust Manny for everything that he has done?

COLD DAY IN HELL is an exceptional read. This is a thrilling, entertaining, fast paced read that had a splash of romance. This story had characters that were well developed, and I was so glad that I was able to see all of the characters again. Ms. Alexander's writing is beautiful and clear, and I got lost in all the suspense. The strong pace kept me engaged in the storyline from the beginning to the very end. The chemistry between Ty and Ana is intense and they were meant to be together. Ty is willing to do just about anything to keep Ana for himself.

I highly recommend this read to readers that love suspense with a splash of romance. This is one book that I know will be kept in my library for future reading.
