Out of the frying pan into the fire…

Roman has one hard and fast rule—don't sleep where you eat. But he can't say no to Jenna's plea for him to help her save her family business. Soon she's working for him, and their scorching chemistry melts Roman's resistance.

If you can't stand the heat…

Jenna knows Roman has reservations about enjoying the heat between them, but she's got a plan. She's going to keep this sexy man so satisfied in—and out—of the kitchen, he won't regret a thing. But Roman has his own ideas. He wants more than a few hot nights, and he's going to teach Jenna a lesson about playing with fire.

What's the "playboy of the west coast" to do when he finds the one woman who can bring him to his knees? Seduce her back, of course! Seduction is the name for chefs Roman and Jenna in this Hot Nights novel by Amanda Usen.

Popular chef and restaurateur Roman Gallagher is used to getting what he wants, whether it be the most gorgeous women on the left coast or saving a failing restaurant. He's not good with denying himself the pleasures of life, but Roman knows disaster looms if he gets involved with his longtime friend Jenna Cooper, teenage object of desire and kick-ass pastry chef. He's sworn to his BFF, Jenna's brother Cole, never to go near her, but when she comes strolling into his latest project with a plan and a promise, Roman has to rethink everything he's known about life, love and friendship.

Jenna came to town to get Roman's help on her own failing family restaurant, and the way she sees it, she can offer him something in return if he shares his brilliance with her. And if she "happens" to seduce him with her body along with her pastries, all the better for her plans! For the first time, Roman feels disconcerted when it seems a woman wants to use him for sex. He's pretty sure he wants Jenna for more than a few hot nights, but until he's sure that she wants him for all the right reasons, he's got to hold back. The two of them will have some major decisions to make if there is any chance of a real relationship.

SEDUCING THE PLAYBOY is a Hot Nights novel and can be read as a standalone. This book just didn't do it for me. From the tired storyline to the manwhore MC, everything about this book felt unoriginal. Summary? Guy wants girl, but girl is best friend's sister so he has to stay away but now girl is all grown up and independent and can sleep with whomever she wants and she wants guy so guy gives in and love happens. The end. The sexual tension between Roman and Jenna was definitely there, and that is the best part of this read for me.

I felt like Jenna went after Roman for all the wrong reasons, and I never was clear on why she didn't just ask a friend for help instead of deceiving him and trying to use sex to get what she wanted. That didn't endear her to me, nor did the pushy, giggly and oversexed heroine that she turned into when he was near. She seems like a little girl playing at being a woman, and the contrast between slutty playboy Roman's wild ways and Jenna only emphasized how immature Jenna was. I just couldn't get into this story or these characters.
