TRADING PLACES is book 3 in the Dirty White Candy series featuring a thirty-something divorcee Candy and how she is discovering her sexuality in everu deliciously juicy way she can.
Since her divorce and resurrection as a sexual dynamo, Candy Kavana has become the master of her world. Not only has she experienced sexual decadence like she never knew existed, but she's also found a sexy man to share her newfound proclivities with. John is in desperately love with Candy, and he's just built her a dream home that plays into her desires for multiple partners and swinging sex.
But Candy's nervous. After all, the last man she trusted crushed her in the divorce and she's just now getting her groove back. Add into that the trauma that her BFF Stacy is going through with her husband and a corporate merger at work and Candy is beyond overwhelmed.
All of the stress leaves Candy with a short fuse, but thankfully John is prepared to be the balm to her stress. The two become even closer as Candy struggles with moving in with John, jealousy issues, work craziness, and tons and tons of hot swinger sex. When the dust clears, can Candy come to terms with her new reality?
TRADING PLACES is book 3 in the Dirty White Candy series featuring the sexventures of divorcee Candy as she discovers who she is and what she wants. My favorite part of this series is Candy's first person, sometimes snarky but always extremely realistic, inner monologue. In TRADING PLACES, her attitude occasionally bordered on eyebrow-raising rudeness, as she had a short fuse frequently and took it out on everyone around her, especially John. While ULTIMATE VACATION, the second book in the series, had me questioning whether John was simply Candy's sexual plaything or loving boyfriend, Ms. Cox really developed the duo's relationship much better in TRADING PLACES, going a long way toward me fully appreciating his character.
I also appreciated the realistic and frank tone of this series and especially this book. It was interesting to read the swingers lifestyle storyline that Ms. Cox took on and compare it to what I know about that lifestyle in "real life". TRADING PLACES gave a fun and raw and perfectly raunchy view while also making sure we knew it wasn't all sunshine and roses and happy hand-holding, Kumbaya singing nights.
Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of dirty erotic fun in this book...MF, FF. MFF, FFF. MMFF, MFFF...something for everyone. While there were a few editing issues (Janette/Jeanette drove me crazy!), overall I really enjoyed TRADING PLACES and kind of hope Ms. Cox continues this series with a few more of Candy and John's adventures in their new lives!
