Two well deserving characters and one beautifully written romance. It's short and it's delicious. A perfect little cowboy break for the afternoon.
Y'all know this Texan loves her cowboys. And let me tell you, this is one yummy cowboy to get to know. Lucky, lucky Miss Kenzie. Color me jealous.
Kenzie Calhoun fell in love with Chance when she was but a child. Her mother had passed away and Chance held her while she cried. From that moment forward she saved herself and set her sights on the man ten years her senior.
When Kenzie turned 18, she was certain Chance would finally claim her as his own. Instead, in the face of temptation, Chance fled. But now, ten years later, Kenzie is 28, her father has passed away and she is about to lose the family farm. When Chance rides into town to bury his own mother, he learns of Kenzie's desperate situation and can't walk away.
This one is a quick ride to happiness. They are two stubborn individuals, but that just makes for some serious boot bumpin' when they finally lose control. Chance is that perfect man who tries to live up to high moral expectations for himself. The fact that he didn't find himself worthy of Kenzie was so totally frustrating. It's a good thing she is just as ornery. It takes all of her skills to convince him he is deserving of happiness. I just love a tough girl who will stop at NOTHING to get her man.
These two belong together and the end was simply irresistible. Sweet, sweet, sweet. Just what the afternoon called for.
This one is a novella. It is one fast read, so I was amazed at the character development the author managed to do in such a short amount of time. You can't expect it all to be fleshed out, but you can expect to care about them and you will certainly enjoy the romance that took a lifetime to build and days to consummate. If you are looking for one of those quick picks, this is one western tale to check out. Enjoy!
