When Amber Whitman's fiance suddenly turns violent, she flees back home—only to be told she has no choice but to marry the bastard. Refusing to live her life as an abused woman, Amber takes off in the dead of night. But now she's out of money, out of options, and out of ideas. She has no place to turn…or does she?

All these years, Amber thought her beloved adopted brother, Allen, was dead. When she discovers he's not only alive, but living in the same city, she runs to him for help. Fortunately, Allen and his lovers have a plan to keep Amber safe. Allen brings his little sister to stay with Maddox Henley, a Dom with a dark past, and Riley Jones, an ex-soldier with a dark secret. Together, these two strapping construction workers have the balls and ability to keep a young woman safe from all outside threats.

But can they keep her safe from the threat they pose to her heart?

If you're a fan of rough and raunchy guy on guy lovin', then look no further than ANGEL WITHOUT.

Amber Whitman has nowhere to turn. After being raped and beaten by her fiancé and told to suck it up by her famous evangelical father, Amber turns to her brother Allen, the only person she knows who has escaped the shackles of the Whitman family. Allen, his husband Tatum and wife Sidri immediately take the frightened woman under their wing and stash her in one of their properties that's being renovated, with strict instructions for the foreman to watch out for her.

Maddox Henley has avoided women since accidentally harming a submissive six years ago and he's definitely been avoiding employee Riley Jones since meeting the rock hard man. He's tired of denying that he wants Riley, but when he meets Amber, he's shocked at just how much he wants her, too. Amber's presence makes it possible for Riley and Maddox to do something about their attraction, and the men can't wait to have the pixie submissive between them, too. But with all three of them dealing with serious demons, will the triad be able to overcome their pasts to form a future together?

ANGEL WITHOUT is the follow up novel to the gorgeously written Demons Within and can be read as a standalone book. I really enjoyed ANGEL WITHOUT, though I thought that it had some big shoes to fill after the first one, and it didn't quite get there in my opinion. While the story was good, for me it just lacked the emotional 1-2 punch I had eagerly anticipated. Maybe because I felt like, for most of the book, Amber's role was that of someone who needed protecting, not necessarily that of a lover.

Amber survived horrific experiences, don't get me wrong, but when Maddox and Riley went on and on about her strength, I truly didn't see it. And her part of the threesome was fairly non-existent except as a catalyst for the men to be together. But oh, were they together! I loved Maddox and Riley's sinfully sexy relationship, their rough play and Maddox's demanding nature. Ms. Ayers wrote their relationship so deliciously that I wound up just wanting the two of them to be together, maybe just letting Amber play with them occasionally.

In the end, ANGEL WITHOUT was still a good book. It just had a little too much to live up to, in my opinion.
