Violet is a woman on a mission to get her life in order. Or she was supposed to be. Sleeping with her smokin' hot new boss, however, definitely counts as a mistake. One she has no intention of repeating.

Bar owner Alex has finally got his libido back following a crushing divorce. No way is he letting the curvaceous object of his lustful affections get away. They can have a relationship without it spilling over into the workplace. Of course they can. Because he most certainly won't be putting his hands on her in the back office, and getting busy in the storage room is definitely out…

Violet may be reluctant to repeat the past—but she's not the only one on a mission.

Sleeping with the boss is never a good idea, especially when you are trying to get your life back on track.

Author Kylie Scott delivers a short spicy read in HEART'S A MESS. Alex is co-owner of a bar and is fresh from a painful divorce. Thinking that he has lost his mojo, he wakes up after a night of partying to indications of a sleepover.

Meanwhile, Violet is sure that she is going to get fired from her new job for sleeping with the boss. Imagine her surprise when he doesn't seem to remember the identity of his missing bed partner. With only the scent of perfume and a lacy bra as clues, Alex is desperate to find the mystery woman.

As expected, there's an abundance of steam in this short read. The storyline itself is fresh with engaging characters who are involved in some rather humorous situations. The mix of humor and attraction works well for the characters. Violet gets high ratings as a super sassy gal who is trying very hard to get away from a history of bad boy mistakes.

It's not a complicated story, which makes it perfect for a reading on the go. I guarantee you will never think of a dusty old storeroom in quite the same way ever again.
