For someone with a cowboy addiction problem, heading to Montana for any length of time seems like a bad idea. The characters in SLOW HAND will have to deal with the consequences of that decision for a long time.

Nicole Powell only wants to make it to Montana to bury her father, but a series of events has her sexy attorney Wade Knowlton coming to her rescue repeatedly. Wade was raised to do the right thing, but it certainly isn't a hardship when the woman he's helping looks like Miss Nikki! Nikki isn't in the market for another cowboy in her life, she's gone down that road more than once with heartbreaking results, but this rancher/attorney makes her bristle with every comment and salivate with every sultry glance.

Wade wants Nikki with a passion that stuns him, but he knows better than to fight it. He's sure he can convince Nikki to stay in Montana and give things a shot between them, to show her that not all men who wear a Stetson and a pair of Tony Llamas are alike. But Nikki isn't ready to give up her life in Georgia for another man with a smooth mouth and promises of "maybe," no matter how tempted she is to say YES.

SLOW HAND is book #1 in the upcoming Hot Cowboy Nights series, and while decently written and developed, I just couldn't get into the storyline. Sure, the chemistry between Nikki and Wade was good, but I found her to be a fairly unlikeable character overall. She was pushy and clingy and had some jealousy issues, not to mention that she constantly put cowboys (and therefore Wade) down, making snide comments and rude observations from the minute they meet. I did really like Wade until 3/4 of the way through, when he himself became pushy and unreasonable and pretty much threw kindergarten temper tantrums. And the conclusion, I won't give away any spoilers, but I'll just say that I was disappointed in the ultimate decision that Nikki made due to Wade's attitude and actions.

The writing in SLOW HAND felt a bit forced and uncomfortable, as were the glossed over sex scenes. Overall, I just was kind of bored with this entire book. There was little spark, no "little something" that makes you want to stay up half the night reading because you just MUST know what's happening next. I couldn't get emotionally attached to either Nikki or Wade, making this an all over "eh" read for me, especially with the editing errors that jumped out at me like rattlesnakes.
