- Book 1 of Seattle Sockeyes--Game On in Seattle
He trusts his gut, she trusts her numbers, and neither trusts the other, as a billionaire's mission to bring hockey to Seattle clashes with his passion for the woman who holds his heart.
Ethan Parker, a billionaire determined to bring a professional hockey to Seattle, will stop at nothing to realize his dream. After signing an agreement to purchase another city's team, Ethan is anxious to make the move to Seattle, but a gag order by the League forces him to keep the sale a secret until the season ends, leaving him no choice but to go undercover as a consultant to study his team during the playoffs.
Lauren Schneider, Assistant Director of Player Personnel for the Giants hockey team, gets no respect from the team's testosterone-loaded staff. When Ethan bursts onto the scene, full of charm and genuinely interested in her opinions, she shares the team's weaknesses and discovers a weakness of her own--for Ethan. But when his true identity is revealed, and he starts cleaning house based on her unwitting input, his betrayal cuts deeply on both a professional and personal level. Bound by an employment contract, Lauren reluctantly moves to Seattle to work for the newly christened Seattle Sockeyes and her sexy, infuriating boss.
Lauren and Ethan must come to terms with their passions--for the team, for hockey, and for each other. Will their situation build a frozen wall between them, or will their love burn hot enough to melt the ice shielding their hearts?

A dream, a loyal team, friendships, romance but it's all shattered with lies.
This is the first book in a new series by Ms. Davenport and I really liked it. I loved reading her Seattle Lumberjacks Series and I know that I and going to love Game On In Seattle Series. Ms. Davenport started a great foundation and I know that I will look forward to reading the happily ever after of the team members and maybe also his business partner, Brad. One of the reasons that I liked this book was because of Lauren; she was an awesome woman that knew hockey and Ethan knew it. It's tough being a woman in a man's sport but she knew the ins and outs of hockey and if he didn't find a way to keep her, they were going to loss a great asset to their team.
Ethan "Williams" Parker knows what Seattle needs and that is a hockey team. With Brad's help and other business associates, they get their wish. They know that it's going to be tough but Ethan had no idea how tough. He decided that since he can't say anything to the team or the staff, he would go undercover. Ethan believed that he would be able to get the dirt on some of the employees and the players. They would not be afraid to speak with him, but he was so wrong because there was one player that didn't trust him. He tried his best but in the end he knew that he would end up hurting the people who trusted him, especially Cooper and the woman that he had taken an interest in.
Lauren Schneider is a woman that had to climb the ladder. Her father is a legend in the hockey world and, while she was growing up with her brothers, she had to fight to get his attention. She ended up learning everything she could, but no matter what she was not a boy, so she somewhat rebelled. Lauren fell in love with a hockey player and soon found out that he was not the man she thought he was. She ended up divorcing him and she was able to get a clerical position with the Giants. She is now the Assistant Director of Player Personnel and she excels in her position.
When she is introduced to Ethan Williams, she doesn't know anything about him and immediately doesn't trust him. But as she interacts with him on a daily basis she knows that if he ends up staying with the company that bought the Giants, the hockey team could end up excelling. The company that owns them currently don't care about the players but she knows that it will soon be different.
There are so many times that Ethan wanted to come clean with Lauren but he knew he couldn't. He was forming friendships with some of the players and knew that it was going to be hard to win their confidence back, but he knew he needed Lauren no matter what. Lauren also needed to deal with her father because he and a couple of old school hockey players were now interested in the team and they wanted to make an offer. Lauren's father wanted information on Ethan but she knew that if her father and his friends bought the team, they would not give her the position that she deserved on the team. What will Lauren do? Will Ethan be able to convince Lauren not to leave the team? Will she be able to trust him ever again?
SKATING ON THIN ICE was a good read and it had me enthralled from beginning to end. The chemistry between Ethan and Lauren was evident from the moment that they met. I knew that they were going to be perfect for each other but they were going to have to stay strong. This story is well written and descriptive. I love a story that is a nice easy fun read and that lets me dream.
I totally recommend this read!!
