Five "one of the most clever books and unique plots I have ever read" stars!

Wow, without a doubt, this has got to be one of the most clever, unique plots I have ever read! Alessandra Torre is a literary genius! In a style that reminds me somewhat of Tiffany Reisz (one of my all-time favorite authors), Ms. Torre's facility with words and ability to craft an intricate, suspenseful, erotic storyline is off the charts! I know there are many romance readers who refuse to read "cheating" stories on principle. Even if that is generally a deal breaker for you, please don't let that stop you from experiencing this incredibly charged, intriguing story. Just like the book description states: "If you think you've heard this story before, trust me -- you haven't." Unfortunately, I can't say anything more without spoilers that would ruin the experience for you.

Layana Fairmont has lived a pampered, albeit tightly controlled life. Born and raised to marry someone even richer, her parents have dictated her every move. Now that she is turning 25, her trust fund of $12 million will finally be turned over to her, providing her the means to make sure that her parents' wish never comes true.

Then Lana meets Brant, a self-made tech billionaire. He is nothing like the rich men her parents have repeatedly tried to convince her to pursue, thus opening the door for their relationship. Soon he turns her world upside down, and she knows she is falling for him. Then she learns the truth.

Not long thereafter Lana meets Lee. He is the anti-thesis of the men her family has longed for her and exactly what she has always hoped to explore once she achieved her freedom. A blue collar, alpha male who cuts grass for a living and is sex on a stick.

Lana is in love with both, but the dangerous game of "black lies" they are playing may destroy them all. Can there possibly be a HEA in this story?

Although Alessandra Torre is best known for her erotic writing, I would also challenge romantic suspense lovers to give this book a read. This is the type of book that readers of that subgenre will devour. Just as I am used to experiencing in a good romantic suspense novel, BLACK LIES kept me challenged throughout the entire book trying to solve the puzzle that is this amazing story. I am so impressed with Ms. Torre's writing, that I now plan to go back and read her backlist and will undoubtedly be the first in line to read any of her new titles!
