If you are looking for something fresh and completely unique in the erotic romance subgenre, then I highly recommend FOLLOW! Being a Twitter enthusiast, I was hooked the minute I read the social media angle of this romance. The idea of a dirty tweeter coming face to face with the mega movie star she has lusted over for years, who not only stars in her personal fantasies, but who is also the muse who has helped her perfect the art of the X-rated tweet, was intriguing. Then add in that the movie star has very particular sexual tastes, tastes which require the entry into a nondisclosure agreement to discover, and you have the perfect recipe for an extremely lascivious, erotic read. But if you think you've heard this billionaire tale before, believe me you haven't, because that's when J.A. Huss proves her literary talent by throwing in some amazing creativity to add some twists and turns to prove just how little you actually know.
Grace Kinsella, better known as "FilthyBlueBird" in the Twitter universe, has encountered more than her fair share of tragedy. After being orphaned at thirteen, even now as an adult, she prefers to live in her fantasies. Fortunately, her best friend's family has always welcomed her with open arms. It is while on vacation with her best friend, during their "Fake Honeymoon" at an exclusive resort which they won as part of a radio contest, that she meets Vaughn Asher.
Vaughn Asher is Hollywood royalty. Not only was he born into a famous acting family, but they even own their own production company. There isn't one aspect of showbiz that they don't have their hands in, and women are willing to do nearly anything to have their taste of him. Not surprisingly, Asher is used to getting what he wants, and when it comes to women: "I fuck them. I use them. I pay them off. I find another. My demands are never denied. My contracts are always signed. They submit to me. Willingly. Completely. Temporarily. This is how it's always been." Then he meets Grace, and she turns his orderly, predictable life into chaos.
I loved FOLLOW! Show me an alpha male, even an alpha hole like Vaughn, and I will usually like the story, but show me a strong heroine who can cause an alpha male, especially an alpha hole, to deviate from his norm, like Grace, and I will almost certainly absolutely adore it! Although we get glimpses of underlying past issues that almost certainly have, and will continue to have, their effect on this story, I loved that Grace has a backbone. Even though she may not always speak up when you think she should, she is capable of being assertive, even at certain times when you can't imagine she will be and at the risk of losing her wildest fantasy. In short, she's a wild card with strong emotions and convictions, a rare beauty in Asher's world, and in the billionaire BDSM romance subgenre. I can't wait to see the extremes that each will no doubt go through as they discover what they really want and how to manage their feelings for one another.
Now I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for September 10th when the next installment of this six-part series, Like, is scheduled to be released! I so need to find out what series of twists and turns J.A. Huss will take us on next!
