It's going to take a lot of mistletoe...

Guthrie MacNeill, financial advisor for his clan and werewolf pack, is at his wit's end when the pack leader's mate hires a gorgeous party planner to bring holiday cheer to the castle. Guthrie's wildly attracted to Calla, except he can't reconcile the fact that his job is to save the clan's money, and hers seems to be to spend it.

To warm this Highlander's heart

Calla Stewart has never had a more difficult client. The laird and lady of the castle are delightful, but the handsome Highlander holding the purse strings is quite impossible. Since she specializes in holiday magic, Calla hopes she can make the scrooge-like wolf lighten up. Then Guthrie takes on the role of Highland warrior to protect her from an unexpected threat, and the holidays take a turn for the passionate.

Terry Spear does it again with A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS, book fifteen in her Heart of the Wolf series.

Calla is an event planner who sorta has a crush on Guthrie MacNeill. While Guthrie is the clan financial adviser who is guarded about spending money, it would seem that they are totally different. They were wrong about that in a lot of ways. The author cleverly explored that aspect and as it turns out they were perfect for each other. Slowly we see that they both have some scars from past relationships. Calla has recently broke things off with a stubborn fiancé who doesn't want to let her go, while Guthrie doesn't even realize yet how much he needs to heal from a bad breakup. So the road gets pretty bumpy for their relationship. The story moves along rather fast as events unfold that make Guthrie realize how easily he could lose his mate…

Finally, Guthrie MacNeill gets his own story. I've been waiting a while for this one. I have to say that Ms. Spear did not disappoint me. It's a fast paced, sexy, fun to read book, and one that I enjoyed a lot. I really loved how the story evolved into a sweet romance for any time of the year.

This book works great as a standalone novel, but really, why would anyone want to miss out on such a wonderful paranormal series? If you haven't tried it yet, then you might want to get on it right away. It's so good!

I'll give it four stars.
