SUMMARY
Adam longs for a Dominant. And not just any Dominant, he has his eyes on Jacques "Jake" d'Allemagne, a man as sexy as sin who has made Adam's blood boil ever since he first laid eyes on him. As the owner of a fabled club in the French Quarter, Jake is a hot catch. Many compete for his affection and a night in his bed. When Adam finds out Jake's lover has been cheating on him behind his back, Adam sets his mind on attracting Jake's attention. Maybe what a Dom needs is a submissive who can love him unconditionally. A sub who is as hot-blooded as the Dom himself...

An invitation to a ménage leads to some explosive action in HOT BLOODED by Lizzie Lynn Lee.

Adam has had his submissive eyes on Jake from the first moment they met. However, as a Dom, Jake already has a sub. When Adam gets an opportunity to join them for a night of fun, he will do whatever it takes to prove he is the right submissive for Jake.

Because this is a fairly quick read, there's not a lot of time to devote to a fully fledged storyline. However, there is a strong emphasis on the heat level between the male characters.

My biggest question revolved around Jake and the depiction of his Dom characteristics. It didn't seem like he truly embraced his role, even though he was supposed to be a professional Dom. Instead of demonstrating Alpha tendencies, he apparently didn't exercise enough control over his original submissive. As a former soldier, it was a bit difficult to imagine Adam showing weakness in a confrontation.

While the entertainment value rates fairly high, the lack of substance detracts from the book's overall impact.
