Service. Honor. Sacrifice. Being a Soranian Lord or Lady means putting the needs of the land and its inhabitants before your own and performing the magic necessary to ensure good harvests and good health.
Adimir, son of the Lord and Lady of Thelana, was raised to serve his estate and people and his physician-wife Miryea supports him--especially in the parts involving sex-magic and spanking.
But when portents suggest Adimir must give his very life to fend off an ancient demon, Miryea fights back with powers of her own, powers she's still learning to use. An ancient, wise satyr from the hills of Thelana holds the secret to defeating the demon, but it's trapped in his memory by magic. To release it, Miryea needs to take a leap of faith into the satyr's arms and work sex-magic and healing magic in ways she never knew she could.
She finds her answer, but it demands yet another shocking price. Can submissive Miryea find the courage to hurt and humble the man she loves in order to save him and the people of Thelana?

Teresa Noelle Roberts has built a complex and intriguing world in her fantasy that is imbued with magic rooted in sex. And though the story is filled with lots of spankings and thrashings, none of them is ever considered to be punishment for either partner. It is either foreplay or duty.
The honor of being a Soranian Lord or Lady means putting the needs of the land and its inhabitants before your own, and performing the magic necessary to ensure good harvests and good health. So, when portents suggest that Adimir, son of the Lord and Lady of Thelana, must sacrifice his life in a horribly mutilating manner to protect his land from an ancient demon, his physician-wife Miryea chooses to fight back with powers of her own. Powers she is still learning to use. However, when Miryea finally uncovers the answer she seeks through sex and healing magic, she knows it will take great courage on both her and her husband's part to enact the ceremony that will vanquish the demon.
THRESHING THE GRAIN is a dark fantasy filled with passionate eroticism. Miryea enjoys the spankings her husband gives her as foreplay prior to their couplings, but as a civilized woman and healer, she also feels guilty about her enjoyment. Adimir, for his part, plays whatever role his lady desires, as long as he is the one in control. With the heart and body of a warrior, Adimir is all-too-willing to play the games Miryea requires, but his love and pride in her shines through in the way he caters to her wishes in almost all things.
A lot is asked of Miryea, but she doesn't hesitate when it comes to saving Adimir's life, even when she fears he may not be able to love and forgive her afterwards. She is willing to sacrifice her own life for his, if it becomes necessary, and at times she fears it might just come to that.
The respect Adimir and Miryea show for each other, as well as their love, is obvious. Neither wishes to cause true pain or hurt to the other, even when they feel it is necessary. However, their wishes do not reign supreme in this novel.
I am certain Ms. Roberts is developing a series with THRESHING THE GRAIN and I highly recommend this story to readers who enjoy stories where the heroine loves to be spanked. You will not be disappointed.
