Book 3 of The Mystic Series
Fantasy Romance, Paranormal Romance

A wise Satyr always pays his debts: Pawnshop owner Devlin Ward isn't stupid. When Karma appears on his doorstep to cash in an old favor, he can't refuse. It's a simple request—accept a delivery and keep it safe. Unfortunately for Devlin, the "package" is a sullen teenage oracle who insists that he locate the Feather of Truth. Or else.

A promise is a promise: Mary Swain, a.k.a. Ma'at, Goddess of Truth, always honors her word. For the first time in centuries, she's finally free of her debts and wants a new life, preferably away from Mystic, where every quaint shop and cozy restaurant is a reminder of her unreliable ex-boyfriend. Finally, she's leaving and nothing's going to stop her.

But when Devlin approaches her with the oracle's dire warning and a frazzled plea for help, she can't resist a tempting new adventure or his quietly sexy allure. Despite his best efforts to feign indifference, she knows Devlin is attracted to her too. He claims to have deep, dark secrets that even the Goddess of Truth can't pry out of him. Or can she?

Unable to turn down the request for a favor, Devlin Ward finds himself in the possession of a sullen teenage oracle who insists he finds the Feather of Truth, so he'll have to shore up his courage and ask his friend Mary for help in this mesmerizing paranormal romance.

This steady-to-fast paced romance mesmerizes readers with lots of suspense, excitement, romance and a fascinating world that draws the reader in and doesn't let go. Devlin is a satyr with secrets who feels that he doesn't deserve Mary, and Mary wants her freedom. Too bad their destinies has more in mind for them and the reader can't help but get caught up in their haphazard romance as they both keep things to themselves and have a bad habit of non-communication. Their desires, when they give in to them, burns hot and the sex scenes are hot and steamy, too, but the relationship will need a little intervention...maybe in the form a sullen teenage oracle.

Spine-tingling suspense and excitement build throughout the story as the well written scenes and details paint vivid images and bring the story to life. Someone is out to wreck havoc and causes quite a few problems for Devlin and Mary as they try to uncover the nefarious plot and keep Sybil safe. The story captures the imagination with lots of captivating characters, and an intriguing spin and mix of pantheons and myths grab the reader's attention and ensure that the reader comes back for more.

I was completely caught up in this story from the very beginning although there were a couple of times that things seemed a little off. But this may be due to the fact that I haven't read the previous books in the series and obviously missed the beginning of this fascinating world, so I will take care of that and look forward to reading the next book.
