SUMMARY
If You Can't Stand The Heat…

Teagan O'Malley can handle a crisis. She's a paramedic, it's her job. But she never expected to land in the kitchen of her father's pub, with no notice, no cash, and no room for error. The kitchen is not her favorite place. Lucky for her, she just scraped a bad-boy chef off the pavement after a motorcycle accident—and something about him says he can turn up the heat in more ways than one.

Adrian Holt has had a rough few years, and he's not eager to get tangled up in anything more complicated than a good risotto. But with a broken arm and a head full of bad memories, he needs a challenge to keep him sane. Teagan's dare-me attitude and smoldering mess of a bar are just what the doctor ordered. And the two of them together might cook up some even better medicine…

Cooking? Check. Sexy Chef who makes sure his woman gets fed? Check. Feisty, fearless woman with a badass career, few domestic skills and a ferocious protective streak? Check. FIRE ME UP has all of the goodies I like to devour!

La Dolce Vita sous chef Adrian Holt is content spending his every waking moment at work, primarily so he doesn't have time to think about how empty his life is. When he's in a motorcycle crash and has to put his life on hold for at least 6 weeks, he has no clue what to do with himself, especially since he's on parole and there's a saying about idle hands. But Adrian promised his nonna that he'd live his life with no regrets, so he combines the two and starts helping sexy paramedic Teagan O'Malley learn her way through the kitchen at her dad's bar and grill.

Teagan isn't happy to learn that her dad hid his illness from her, but she's furious to find out that he borrowed money from a seriously bad dude to keep his bar and grill running while trying to pay his medical bills. When she tells Adrian what she learns, he has to rethink helping her...after all, he's only got a few months left on his parole, and if he gets caught even smelling something shady, he'll head back to Rikers faster than it takes to make a bowl of cereal. But Adrian can't stay away from the feisty redhead who makes him believe in a life with no regrets. Can the two of them figure out a way to make sure everyone wins?

FIRE ME UP is book 4 in the Pine Mountain series and it's hot hot hot in Teagan's kitchen! The sheer crazy chemistry between Adrian and Teagan could start a fire, and their comfort level with each other was incredible. The characters just clicked and I loved their story. It's not often that the main characters are a dude on parole and a chick raising money for a loan shark, but it simply WORKED for Adrian and Teagan. Given that I've not had the opportunity to read any other books in this series, I was glad I wasn't lost as FIRE ME UP stood alone perfectly. AND it featured characters who cook...one of my favorite kind of reads!

I loved the fact that Adrian lived his life--or more accurately WANTED to live his life--with no regrets. He really didn't know how to even start, but once he got it into his head to go for what felt right, he was just sigh-worthy. And the sex...delicious! Even though those scenes were few and far between, what was there was beyond erotic. While there wasn't anything groundbreaking or earthshattering in FIRE ME UP, it was a well-written, solid read that I would recommend to lovers of erotic romance. I personally can't wait to get my hands on more Pine Mountain books ASAP!
