"So beautiful. You make it impossible to think." He pulled her against him and found her mouth. "You don't know how long I've wanted to do this."
When he let her up for air, she whispered as though she couldn't trust her voice, "Is this another Texas custom?"
"Absolutely," he growled. "Welcome to Texas."
Rancher Cooper Thorne thinks his life is finally on an even keel-until Delta Dandridge steps off the stagecoach and claims she's his mail order bride. Brash and quick-witted, the meddling Southern Belle is everything Cooper thought he never wanted...and everything his heart is telling him he needs.
But Cooper swore long ago that he'd never marry, and he aims to keep his word, especially now that the demons from his past have returned to threaten everything-and everyone-he holds dear...

TEXAS MAIL ORDER BRIDE was a good story. It had an interesting plot that captured my attention right away. The story then changed direction from what I'd expected and kept me glued to the pages until the last one was turned.
Like I said, the story got me hooked with the mail order bride trope; I do seem to enjoy that sort of setting. But then the plot changed as Cooper hadn't advertised for a wife so that didn't happen quite the way I'd expected. No. He fought the attraction all the way. It made for some delicious tension that lasted for the entire story. Now, the set-up was great. Delta had come west looking for a new start, but things aren't looking good for her as the groom is a sworn bachelor. There's no going back for Delta so she finds her way. She was a strong heroine for this setting. Ms. Broday made things even more interesting by throwing in the element of suspense. It seems that someone is trying to put Cooper out of business. Is it a ghost from his past or a new enemy?
I enjoyed this one. I liked the characters and the connection they had. It had some interesting sub-plots that involved Cooper's brothers that I suppose will play out in future books. So there was plenty going on that held my interest. I am quite looking forward to reading more. All in all, this book was put together really well. It was fast paced, flowed easily, with charming characters and intriguing set-ups for subsequent books.
