SUMMARY
One night, one time, nothing more. That's all it was supposed to be. They'd agreed their first night together would be their only night together—and Minnesota Glaciers defenseman Dylan Rylie was fine with that. Giant hickeys and claw marks on his ass had never been his style, even if the very memory of Samantha Yates's merciless sexual energy gets him hard within seconds. He needs to focus on getting a better contract, not mind-blowing orgasms.

One night, one time, nothing more. Fresh off representing the US at the Games and with nowhere else to play, Samantha gave in to one night of frantic passion with the Glaciers' brawny hotshot. She couldn't get hurt—not if she controlled the outcome. And she planned to leave Minnesota soon, anyway. She didn't expect to be recruited to coach Dylan after they'd gotten down and dirty.

When brutal on-ice workouts lead to kinky locker room sessions and "one night" falls by the wayside, Samantha insists on keeping things casual, despite Dylan's quiet hope for more. But when Dylan goes down—hard—and his career is in jeopardy, Samantha is the first one by his side. What will it take to keep her there after he's healed?

Hockey players are second only to football players on my lust'ometer, and Dylan Rylie definitely hits the top of the list as a seriously sexy manly man who knows what he wants and pursues it with single-minded focus.

A cocky young defenseman for the Minnesota Glaciers, Dylan Rylie is legendary for his hard-partying playboy ways...a persona carefully crafted by his agent. In reality, Dylan just wants to play hockey and be one of the best players in the game. When he meets U.S. Hockey Team Silver Olympic Medalist Samantha Yates, who totally schools him...publicly...on the ice, Dylan realizes he might have a bit to learn before his contract negotiations get underway.

Sam's first love has been hockey since she was a kid, but after the Olympics and college play, there's nowhere left for her to go professionally. She takes perverse pleasure in showing pro-player Dylan up, resentful that he's got a future in the sport while hockey is now in her past. Sam is understandably stunned when he asks for her help on the ice, especially after their totally erotic bar hookup and subsequent walk of shame left her reeling. Neither of them are in the headspace for "more," so why are they both having a tough time walking away?

GAME PLAY, the first book in the upcoming Power Play series, was so hot I needed a break to let the Kindle cool down. I was a huge fan of Ms. Archer's Wicked Play series, so this offshoot series of the delicious hockey players introduced in those books was right up my alley. That first encounter between Dylan and Sam in the bar? HOLEE shit, that was crazy erotic yumminess! The characters had insane chemistry right off the bat, and all of the characters appealed to me and my love of rough and tumble athletic men.

The secondary characters are all guys that I can't wait to get to know, the bantering awesomeness in the men's locker room kept me laughing, and all were believable and realistic. But the real fabulousness of GAME PLAY came in the sex scenes, which were beyond erotic yet filled with a deep emotional connection between Dylan and Sam. There were a large amount of editing mistakes in GAME PLAY, but if those things are corrected, I wouldn't hesitate to consider this one a new favorite kick off to a series.
