The change of life takes on new meaning when Camille falls for her new, hot, younger neighbor. Little does she know how old he really is! Peculiar happenings begin to take place and mystifying sensual dreams plague her at night.
Trapped in the earth's core for a full century, bound between layers of rock by an elemental warlock, Dokken leads his clan out of the abyss and into the future when a fracking job at a drill site creates an earthquake. He's on a mission to avenge the curse, find a queen, and keep something buried that must never be released.
When a clan mate falls astray, a warlock goes on the loose, and too much blood in the champagne leads to a shocking discovery, Dokken must conquer all the odds and protect Camille long enough to make her his.
Will the fun end when the masks come off? Or will Dokken's bite roll back the hands of time at the Masquerade Ball?

Camille leaves behind her past and finds a new beginning. She ends up finding more than she had planned.
Camille finally decides to leave her old life, filled with heartbreaking memories, behind. She moves to a new apartment and runs into one of her neighbors, Dokken. Dokken is obviously taken with her and he can't seem to stay away. What Camille can't figure out is why this hot young guy is interested in someone like her.
Camille is divorced and fifty years old. She doesn't see herself starting over anytime soon. It was something different and I love that she's older than the usual romance heroine. Camille was very likeable and easy to root for from the beginning. I'm glad she was able to leave behind her crappy past and find something good for her.
Dokken's intentions were a little unclear to Camille. He wanted her, but she couldn't tell why. With his odd behavior, mixed with weird happenings surrounding her, she knows something is going on. So, she googles it. It really is the easiest solution for all things. She can't believe what she discovers about her mysterious neighbor.
There was a lot going on in this novel. Vampire clans, evil warlocks, horrible pasts, something to do with fracking and Camille's really weird sister. I enjoyed it and it wasn't confusing at all. I thought having so much going on the story could easily get muddled together, but it was written clearly. It just seemed like too much at times.
Dokken was your typical alpha male. Super hunky, growling all over the place and yelling "Mine!" at every dude that walks by his woman. We've all read it before.
I really liked Camille, but I wanted more from Dokken. Well, not necessarily more, just something different. But I'll definitely be on the lookout for book 2. I need to know what happens next.
