A cabin retreat is usually considered a lover's paradise, but that's not the case for two sworn frenemies trapped inside.
Trevor and Lani have known each other for two years, but in the past several months they have been at each other's throats constantly. However, it all comes to a head when they are stranded together and forced to face what has put a rift in their friendship.
Inside the cabin, things are not what they appear to be. Their two day bickering and hostility has set them on a collision course bound to spiral out of control. Will cabin fever set in, or will forces beyond their control finally push them to together in a whole different way?

Trevor and Lani are supposed to meet their best friends at a cabin retreat for the weekend. At the last minute, the friends cancel, leaving them alone for the weekend. That wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that they can't stand each other.

Their best friends may be getting married in a few months, but Lani has no use for Trevor, and for him, the feeling is mutual. Though for the life of him, he can't figure out why. They met two years ago when their friends started dating and up until several months ago he thought they were friends. Then she started giving him the cold shoulder and being down right nasty with him. Not one to back down from a challenge he gave it right back.

Now, as fate would have it, they are stuck together on a mountain, in a cabin for an entire weekend. Can they get along long enough for the snow to stop so they can part ways? Or will the heat that burns between them come to the surface and ignite the fiery attraction they both have been trying to deny?

This is my first read from this author. It's a short story about 27 pages. I have to say I was surprised at how much I liked this story. Trevor is arrogant but he wears it well and he loves pushing Lani's buttons. Lani has a broken heart and uses her sorrow to push men away. She gets a bad impression of Trevor and takes out her issues on him. Poor guy.

The sexual tension is intense between these two, and when everything explodes, it is hot. I was really shocked at how the author was able to make me really love these characters and care about how they ended up in such a short period time. I would love to know more about this couple. I am also going to look for more from Renee Kelley.

Great short read if you are in the mood for a quickie. Highly recommended.
