This time, all bets are off...
Penelope Carson loves to steal clients from Will Reaver. Yet something in her business nemesis's icy blue eyes makes Penelope...nervous. It certainly doesn't help that the man is the living embodiment of a Norse god. A controlled, powerful Norse god. Which she really should have remembered before she made a bet with him-because losing means becoming Will's personal submissive for a week.
There's nothing Will would like more than to have Penelope kneeling before him in complicit submission, her fiery dark eyes inviting him in. Challenging him. But their bet takes Will and Penelope deeper than either of them have ever been. Where control is an illusion, and boundaries are pushed aside. And where hearts become the stakes in a game that neither Dominant nor submissive can win...

When Penelope Carson loses a bet to Will Reaver, it forces her way out of her comfort zone.
In BETTING ON FATE, author Katee Robert pits two very dominant personalities together in a blazing hot BDSM themed story.
As someone who has read a lot of BDSM erotica, I was really intrigued by Penelope's character. The typical story features a Dominant (usually a male) and a submissive (typically a female). Penelope, although primarily a Dominant, develops into a switch. This is a unique position as noted by the author. It was fascinating to read about Penelope's struggle to submit to Will, particularly in her emotional battle to relinquish control.
When I first read about Will in one of the author's other books, I found him to be an intriguing character. As the Ice King, there's plenty of emotion churning beneath the surface. It's not until he faces off with Penelope that the outer layer is shattered.
Readers might want to arrange for a cooling off session after reading this one. It is packed with heat from start to finish.
