Welcome to a world where the line between pleasure and pain is blurred. Sutton needs a little something extra to find her release and in Adam she finds her perfect foil, but her time in Atlanta is limited and she has to return to the stage in New York or does she?

Sara Brookes weaves a tale interspersed with need, desires and love in EDGE OF NEED. This is the third installment of the Body Masters Series but I did not find myself confused by having not read other books in the series.

Overall I enjoyed this story. It enters the world of BDSM in a way that I would characterize as BDSM lite. If you are unsure that you can handle this genre, this would be a wonderful starter book. It touches on aspects of bondage and spanking but not in a hardcore manner. Adam and Sutton's relationship was more focused on Sutton giving her submission to Adam. She needed that edge of pain but a good spanking usually did the trick. Adam tended more towards seducing Sutton through words and Sutton was quick to enter a fantasy world after her first taste of submitting to Adam.

My issues with the story was that it was a bit too wordy. It started out fairly well but then Ms. Brookes kept Adam and Sutton from realizing that what began as ships in the night had grown into something more. I mean, how many times do you need to have Sutton reiterate that she is not looking for a relationship even as she allows Adam more and more of her time outside of the club? Adam was not much better. He would swear that it was nothing more than a submissive helping a dom out even as he found one excuse after the other to spend time with Sutton. I just wanted to say to them both to accept it already, but no, it dragged on for much too long in my opinion.

Having said that, I did enjoy their sexual interaction. It wasn't just a "wham bam, thank you ma'am". Adam took the time to tailor their sessions to Sutton's specific needs. It was great that those needs dovetailed so nicely with his. It was sensual in addition to being sexual, which I loved immensely. I will warn you that there is a brief female/female scene which is viewed by Sutton, so if that will bother you this book isn't for you. But if you are looking for a starter into reading BDSM this is a good beginner choice.
