- Book 2 of A Pine Mountain Novel
Out of the frying pan. . .and into the fire!
Desperate to escape the spotlight of her failed marriage to a fellow celebrity-chef, Carly di Matisse left New York City for a tiny town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The restaurant she's running these days may not be chic, but in Pine Mountain she can pretend to be the tough cookie everybody knows and loves. Until she finds herself spending too much time with a way-too-hot contractor whose rugged good looks melt her like butter. . .
Jackson Carter wasn't looking for love. But he's not the kind of man to walk away from a worksite--or from a fiery beauty whose passionate nature provides some irresistible on-the-job benefits. . .
It's the perfect temporary arrangement for two ravenous commitment-phobes--except that Jackson and Carly keep coming back for seconds. . .and thirds. . .and fourths. . .

Love is sweet in GIMME SOME SUGAR!
TV chef Carly di Matisse is desperate to get out of the city after a particularly nasty divorce with a fellow celebrity chef. Carly heads to Pine Mountain to run a new restaurant, La Dolce Vita, determined to get her groove back. When she meets sexy contractor Jackson Carter, the heat goes right to her head.
Jackson isn't looking for a woman, even though he's the last one standing in the way of his mom's "wedding and babies for all" happiness. When he spots a breathtakingly tiny yet curvaceous woman with a horrendous singing voice dancing in her kitchen, time stops. He wants Carly with a ferocity that stuns him, but that's just lust…right? The pair bond over good food and bad kitchen puns. Despite the fact that Carly is a renowned chef, Jackson's inner voice is telling him to feed his woman. He starts to wonder how long it's been since somebody took care of her instead of the other way around, and he's determined to make that happen. But with both of their demons, will either one be able to put their pasts behind them in order to see their future together?
GIMME SOME SUGAR is the 2nd book in the Pine Mountain series about the residents of this fictional Blue Ridge Mountain town. I loved the gentle giant Jackson from the first book in the series, Turn Up the Heat, and he was even better in this book. He and Carly make an excellent couple, and the chemistry between them steamed up the pages. I started to wonder about halfway through this book how either of them stayed so trim since they were constantly eating and never working out. That's the kind of diet I need to sign up for!
Although GIMME SOME SUGAR was primarily a sweet romance, the erotic sex scenes were definitely a special treat! The two of them heated up the bedroom like they heated up the kitchen and us lucky readers get to reap the benefits.
Bottom Line: While GIMME SOME SUGAR won't won any awards for originality, it's still a sexy and fun romance that's part of an overall well-written series.
