"Hung Up" and "Alpha Submissive" are two stories published as part of the Not Vanilla erotic series and they are both simply marvelous. As someone fascinated by shibari as art, I've often wondered about the emotions and mindsets of the people involved in public events. Is it arousing? Does it hurt? How quickly do their muscles fatigue? What is the rope wrangler thinking?

In both cases, these stories did not disappoint as they both tackled everything from the butterflies of first-time models to the potentially overwhelming emotional response to outright orgasmic reactions.

Both stories are well done and the authors do a splendid job of creating characters that are both likeable and relatable. Who hasn't taken a job that they didn't want to because they needed the money? Or, taken one for the team when someone bows out of a planned event and there's no one available to take his/her place? While the female characters seem to be placed in untenable positions, their decisions turn into something more than they expected. Much more.

As someone who very much enjoys it when authors can effectively show us what their characters are thinking and feeling to the point that we feel them ourselves, these stories definitely do not disappoint. And well, can I just say, rope. The sensuousness of rope as an extension of someone's fingers…think on that and chances are, you'll want to read these stories again and again.
