SUMMARY
Love can be the greatest possession.

Brianna Lindsay's grip on the inheritance that is rightly hers hangs by a thread. If the town finds out her father has died, Brianna will be forced into marriage with her loathsome cousin, Lord Robert, and will lose all of Edzell Castle and its lands. To protect her home, she'll have to trust a complete stranger, a brooding Highland barbarian who sweeps into Edzell with a small retinue and insists on replacing her Captain of the Guard. He proves his worth by defeating her men and she has no choice but to accept his offer.

Though his motives are suspect, Colin MacKinnon has nobility in his blood and good intentions in coming to Edzell. He seeks his own kingdom, one to rival his father's, and sets out to conquer Brianna in the best way he knows how―with seduction.

Brianna never thought of all the wealth she protects, the one thing she has left completely vulnerable is her heart. Colin never thought that of everything he stands to achieve, he might have to face the unexpected pain of loss. Together, they must navigate a treacherous world of spies and intrigue, of legacy and fidelity, of love and betrayal, to find what is truly worth possessing.

Brianna Lindsay is determined not to become a wife and mother. She knew that this would take her freedom as well as her heart and finally her soul. Her parents' marriage showed her that way was wrong. Her purpose is to stay mistress of Edzell Castle and see to her people's needs without marriage. Now, her father is dead and her legitimacy is in question. She only has her faithful aging nurse, Magda, who is losing her memory lately.

Her despicable cousin, Sir Robert Lindsey, badgers her to marry him. His father is her uncle, Lord Reginald Lindsay, but she dares not go to him for any help. He wants her great wealth and will use his son, Robert, to get it. She vows he will have none of it. Her captain of the guard is dead but two huge handsome Highlanders offer to train her guards and protect her.

Colin MacKinnon must make Brianna fall in love with him. He must seduce her. He wants her castle and wealth too, like her cousin, but he is handsome as well as determined. Colin and Alec heard about Brianna and came with hope of acquiring Edzell Castle. Colin had no idea that Brianna was so beautiful.

This is of course, a match made in heaven. Colin is strong and battle ready with gorgeous green eyes and red hair. Brianna is almost immediately taken by the wonderful rescuing Highlander. How can she not fall in love with him? He offers her protection and love.

This is a steamy romance with all the silken sexiness you can ask for besides an interesting plot of betrayal, greed, mystery, seduction, battle, and love.

The minor characters: Magda, the forgetful aging nurse, Alec the strong silent side kick, Marie, Colin's past love, Robert the disgusting suitor and his even more disgusting father were well scripted and thought out.

I loved Brianna and Colin. Their romance sizzles and you can see their love grow through Colin's seduction. I recommend this novel for anyone that loves Highland Romance that sizzles as romances should. I gave it Five Stars. It's a grand sizzling seduction.
