BDSM, Contemporary Romance, Erotic Romance, Lawyer/FBI Romance, Romantic Suspense/Mystery
Layla's wicked fantasies had already caused problems that left her with deep emotional scars, so when she got a second chance to live them out, she insisted on strict rules and boundaries.
Dustin agreed to abide by Layla's rules because that's the only way he could have her, but after a while, it wasn't enough. He wanted the whole woman—the impulsive, stubborn parts as well as her sweet, generous side—and so he insists she give him a fair chance to prove he's worthy of her love. He's over the moon when she agrees to date him, even if she insists on a vanilla relationship.
Complicating matters is the return of her abusive ex-Master, a kidnapped child, and a human trafficking ring that's been targeting teens from the community center Layla runs. When the investigation turns up nothing, Layla takes desperate measures that put her and Dustin in danger.
In Re/Claimed (Doms of the FBI 3), Michele Zurlo delivers another hot, heartwrenching, and stunning BDSM romantic suspense tale.

She gave him an ultimatum: either be her boyfriend in a vanilla relationship or be her service top. However, he was done with doing it her way; now it was time for him to do it his way.
Wow, after reading this story I have no words. I know that I had to go back and reread the first two books in this series before I started reading this story since it seemed to have to do with the same criminal's. I loved revisiting all the characters and when I started reading RE/CLAIMED, everything just exploded. This was a story that was a little darker than the first two books in the sense that he is a sadist and she loves everything he dishes out. Their sexual scenes are more hardcore/erotic but not in a bad way; just more bondage, more toys and so many more orgasms. But that was not the only thing. This story goes into human trafficking and what some so-called Doms believe should be done with a submissive. The villain in this story was a sick, twisted asshat that should rot in hell. Believe me I could go on and on and call him names that are not very pretty but I'm so happy that Dustin was able to beat the crap out of him.
What totally blew me away besides Dustin and Layla was the fact that it seemed that Malcolm/Darcy and Keith/Katrina were doing great in life. I loved that Darcy had her bundle of joy and she and Malcolm were as happy as can be. Then of course there was Keith and Katrina and the family that they now shared. I loved that he was able to overcome his insecurities and was able to take over the custody of his niece and nephew. I loved seeing these characters so happy and that was just awesome.
Dustin and Layla have been in this no strings attached relationship but it was not going anywhere and Dustin was tired of it. Layla had not opened up to Dustin about her last relationship and the scars that she had because of that relationship. She was doing great for herself. She was helping out kids in the community and was ready to open up another recreation center. When Dustin broached the subject about wanting a D/s relationship with her she always answered that the only way she would start a relationship would be a vanilla one. He knew what she needed but didn't understand why she was fighting it. That was, until he heard her cousin say something about the last long relationship she was in and how she pulled away from her family. Dustin knew something bad had happened but didn't know the extent of the physical, emotional and mental abuse she suffered.
Layla had not seen her ex, Brodie, in a long time but when she saw him one cold day by her recreation center, she hid. She saw him again and confronted him but what got her scared was the fact that it seemed one of the little girls from the rec center was going outside to meet with him because he was going to take her to see her boyfriend. Layla knew what a monster Brodie was and took matters into her own hands but she had no idea that Bee would end up missing. Dustin, Malcolm, Keith, Agent Hardy and Agent Monaghan were running against time to find Bee; she had been missing for days and they had hit a dead end. Layla knew what needed to be done and she ended up hearing from the monster himself minutes later. Now they are invited to a party and Layla knows that this will be the only chance in finding out where Bee is at but what she doesn't know is that Brodie will do whatever he needs to hurt her once again.
RE/CLAIMED was a very interesting read that had me thinking a lot. There are so many forms of dominant and submission but I really hate the dominant men that think that they can hurt a woman just because they can. Layla she trusted him and Brodie ended up abusing her trust and her body. When she told Dustin what had happened to her and how her kidnap scene ended up, I couldn't believe she was actually blaming herself; it was totally not her fault. Dustin is a sadist but what I like about him is that he doesn't like to draw blood. Yes there are times that he left a bruise but what he gets off on is tormenting her, knowing that while she might not be comfortable yet she submits to it. Then there is his fetish with lace and I thought that was cute. I loved that no matter what she did to get him to leave her, he stood his ground and fought for her and for the relationship he wanted and knew that she wanted too. Layla is a wonderful woman that has a big heart but what she needed to get into her thick skull was that she was not meant to be in a vanilla relationship. She couldn't get off when there was no roughness in their sex; it just didn't happen.
The pace of this story was perfect and the characters were well developed. This story flowed beautifully. I love her writing and how her stories are filled with believable characters and love that I connect with them. I am able to feel their emotions while reading her stories and can feel the love they feel for each other.
When the end of this story came there was no way I could keep the tears away. I totally recommend this story but I do have to warn readers that this has some sensitive scenes, bondage, anal play and toy play. All I do have to say is that Ms. Zurlo's sexual scenes are written tastefully.
I totally recommend this read!!
