Contemporary Romance, Erotic Romance
Shawn Griffin and Rachel Cooper have been best friends practically since birth, thanks to their families' close relationship. But for the past few years, Shawn has been fantasizing about getting his best pal in his bed. When she announces she's taking a trip to reconnect with an old lover, Shawn knows the time has come to put up or shut up. If she wants to go to New York City, fine. But he's coming with her.
Rachel doesn't know what to think of Shawn's sudden interest. Determined to live life on her own terms, she refuses to fall right in line with her wealthy family's wish that they get married and have perfect little babies. She just didn't count on how determined her seemingly laid back -- and extremely sexy -- best friend would become after setting his sights on what he wants. Her, over and over again.
But when tragedy strikes, Rachel begins to wonder if she'll lose not only her lover but her best friend too.

I adore Cari Quinn. She is one of those authors I happen to have on insta-buy. You can count on Ms. Quinn to deliver characters that will grab your heart and script a love that will make that heart pound. INSATIABLE carries on that grand tradition with two characters that brought me both tears of joy and sadness. Contemporary romance lovers who can handle some seriously steamy bedroom fun, you really have to check INSATIABLE out.
Shawn and Rachel have been best friends since birth. They were raised with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouths and nothing would make their parents happier than if they declared their undying love and wed.
Rachel is not interested in following any preordained path that leads to A list or family acceptance. And the last thing she is interested in is risking her relationship with her best friend to see if they could be anything more.
Shawn, on the other hand, knows Rachel is everything he wants. Rachel has had some bad relationship experiences that caused him to give her more time than he'd like, but it looks like his time is running out when an old boy friend invites Rachel to New York for the weekend. Shawn is ready to chase her to The Big Apple and prove to her that they were meant for so much more than friendship.
I enjoyed climbing into Rachel's skin as she warred with herself over the feelings she was having for Shawn. Ms Quinn did a masterful job of allowing me to feel her confusion, guilt, regret and hope as she let go of her best friend forever in hopes of finding something even better with him. Rachel knew there would be no going back, and the potential loss of her security net, Shawn, was truly scary for her.
I found myself wanting to give Shawn a hug. The poor boy kept hitting wall after wall. It seemed like the universe was conspiring against him at times. I applaud Ms Quinn for taking the time to allow us to feel Shawn's grief when tragedy strikes. The happy-go-lucky rock that everyone depends on finally crumbles.
There were funny moments, romantic moments, and plenty of lust-filled moments to keep things interesting. I think it could have been a tad shorter or paced a little faster, but over all I found INSATIABLE completely satiating. It is a beautiful story of two soul mates getting everything they deserve. Enjoy!
