Contemporary Romance, MC Romance
The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.
Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .

5+ "Harnessing Butterflies to Get An Easy, Steady, Beautiful Life" Stars! A new top favorite! I already knew I loved Kristen Ashley's amazing stories, but RIDE STEADY is one of the best of the best! The connection and empathy that one can't help but feel for the main characters in this story--Joker and Carissa--was real, tangible and invigorating. If you love light MC Romance, and can't help but to get riled up and root for the underdog every chance you get, then RIDE STEADY will once again inspire and renew your commitment to continue reading stories in this sub-genre in the hope that you will once again discover another gem like this book!
Abandoned by his mother shortly after birth and frequently abused and beaten by his own father, Carson Steele had anything but an easy life growing up. As if that weren't bad enough, he was known as his high school's loner. But for the kindness of a couple of neighbors, Carson may not have survived.
Notwithstanding the dark ugliness that was his life, however, he couldn't help but notice the beauty and kindness that was Carissa Teodoro, his high school's homecoming queen and the quarterback's girlfriend. When a girl who could get away with being just as mean as the other popular people that surrounded her, but nonetheless chose to be nice to everyone and was a genuine good person, even a guy as down on his luck like Carter couldn't help but take note and feel that she deserved all the goodness that came her way.
As his home circumstances became worse, Carson decided he had to leave, while he still could. Which he did, but not before one final encounter with Carissa, in which she made her acknowledgement of her noticing his goodness equally known.
They nonetheless parted ways, and a number of years later, the next time they met, their good fortune was completely reversed. Only Carissa did not recognize that the big, handsome "manly biker" named "Joker", who rescued her and her son from a flat tire on the side of the road, was actually Carson. Carson was now poised to be her knight in shining armor, but can a biker like Joker ever possibly be able to convince a good girl like Carissa "Homecoming Queen" Teodoro to join Chaos?
What an incredibly well-developed story! Both the romance and the secondary storylines were amazing and kept me glued to my Kindle. There are so many different things you can take away from this beautiful story. Perhaps what I loved the most, however, is the message that true family is defined by a lot more than blood, and that the love of a good family can completely redefine your life and heal the past ugliness that not having a good family can leave behind.
I can't wait for the next installment in the Chaos Series, Walk Through Fire, which is scheduled to be released in October of this year (2015)!

OMG ! I loved it. This book was so good. Pure Kristen Ashley magnificence.
Wow! She really did it this time. RIDE STEADY is now my new favorite Kristen Ashley book. Now that's saying something because I didn't think it was ever possible to knock Motorcycle Man out of that top position. I was simply enthralled by this story.
I loved Joker and Carissa. I loved the romance of their relationship, the white knight who rides a Harley, and you know I enjoyed the hot love scenes. It had the usual comedy and all of my favorite characters showed up. Really wouldn't be a vintage KA without the laughs. Joker and Carissa had some major baggage so there is conflict aplenty. I loved how the story touched on a serious issue without overshadowing the romance. I really loved baby Travis and how Joker took care of him. This story had everything. It was romantic, emotional, heartwarming, and passionate. It also had a some suspense and a bit of a twist.
Really, up until now, if you'd asked me (and I have been asked many times) who was my all time favorite alpha male hero, my unhesitating answer has always been Tack from Motorcycle Man. That's because Tack has been a hard act to follow. Well, let me say that KA did it for me with Joker. The man was adorably hot !
So I leave you with some words of wisdom from Tack and my favorite quote :
"If she's the girl and you're it for her ... then you'll ride steady."
I loved this book and absolutely adored the characters. It is a highly recommended and not to be missed Kristen Ashley at her best. Five Flying Stars from this happy reader.
