Serena Dammler is recovering from a savage beating and needs protection. Cowboys and lovers Marc Weller and Tony Estabon are taking jobs as bounty-hunters, and their newest assignment is to capture her attacker and return him to Texas. They take one look at Serena's fragile beauty and decide she'd be the perfect third to their family.

Serena's always dreamed of catching herself a rich man, and she'd do just about anything to make that dream come true. She's not going to allow herself to fall in love with her two cowboy protectors, no matter how sexy they are.

Marc and Tony want Serena as their third, but they want her love to be real and not based on their bank accounts. So what will it hurt if they take her to a little cabin on their ranch and pretend to be simple cowboys?

CATCH HER WHEN SHE FALLS is a charming romance about redeeming oneself and finding love where it is most unlikely to be found. Ms Martine illustrates the emotions of her characters, allowing readers to feel empathy for them and feeling a part of the story.

Serena Dammler has a reputation for stirring up trouble in her small town, a fact demonstrated by her portrayal as the villian in the prequel A Table for Three. Most people don't know her well enough to understand Serena and instead judge her harshly when the only thing she's ever wanted was to be loved. But with rumors of a wild past, Serena can never seem to live down her reputation. When she stirs up trouble, only trying to fix it later and redeeming herself with the reader, she becomes the victim of a violent man. Now she is recovering from a brutal beating and needs protection.

Enter cowboys and lovers, Marc Weller and Tony Estabon, who take on the job as bounty hunters as a favor for a friend. While tracking the man who attacked Serena, they seek her out to interview her only to become transfixed by Serena's fragile beauty. Having heard the gossip about Serena and the less than flattering public opinion, and then overhearing her stepfather's treatment of her, Marc and Tony want to protect her. They see a damaged, vulnerable woman who they hope will become their third.

Marc and Tony bring Serena back to their ranch while she heals, at first under the pretense of protective custody until they capture her attacker. She believes the two men are just farmhands and though she's always dreamed of catching herself a rich man, her feelings for them develop regardless and she discovers wealth is not necessarily everything. Serena falls in love with them – at the same time that they are each falling for her. The relationship progresses realistically with characters that charm the reader. But when the truth is revealed and Serena finds out they have been lying to her, she is crushed. Finding their happily ever after will mean these men will need to claim Serena in a way that will sweep her off her feet.

My major concern with this book is the flow of time, which is off in several places, and then a re-explanation of Serena's past occurs as if the first conversation hadn't taken place a few chapters earlier. The editorial errors distracted from what could've been a smooth story. But overall, CATCH HER WHEN SHE FALLS was a nice read.
