SUMMARY
After Marine scout sniper Niccolo Ferrari lost his best buddy, spotter Pietro "Pete" Galletti, to an Iraqi sniper gunning for the bounty on Nico's head, he goes solo to avoid any more collateral damage. Though he becomes one of the most dangerous snipers in the Corps, Nico's harrowing experiences leave him psychologically bruised and battered. He comes to the Sanctuary military training camp to decompress, to regain his confidence—and his humanity.

At Sanctuary's front door, he comes face to face with Game Warden Abigail O'Connell; the shock nearly stops his heart. He knows her features like the back of his own hand—she was Pete's fiancée, the woman in Pete's photos, the woman whom Nico fell for from a distance, who he's lusted after in silence for years.

Abigail swore off men, yet she can't deny the immediate heat, the unwanted sexual attraction to the emotionally damaged Marine. Nico can't tell her that he's her dead fiance's best friend. How can he when the urge to take her to his bed, to slide into her body, to stay there forever, is all consuming? If he tells her, he'll lose her; if he doesn't, their growing love is a lie.

Oh what a tangled web we weave…

In the wilds of Maine, Game Warden Abigail O'Connell is horny, with no eligible men around to fulfill her needs. When Marine Sergeant Nico Ferrari shows up, she is in immediate lust with the blue-eyed god, but she has no clue that Nico knows exactly who she is. Legendary Sniper Nico was "invited" to Sanctuary by the government to get his head on straight before he ends up a target on someone else's kill list. He did NOT expect to come face to face with the one woman who has haunted his dreams for years. His best friend and spotter's fiancée was a source of his deepest, darkest fantasies, but when Pete died, the thought of ever meeting her died with him. Now he has to decide whether to tell her who he really is and risk losing the best thing that's ever happened to him. Oh yea, all the while trying to stay alive, with a $75k bounty aimed at his Marine high and tight and a threat at the Sanctuary training grounds. Good times.

SAVING NICO is the 6th offering in the sexy Men of Sanctuary Series. The beginning played out like a cheesy porn (shortly after meeting, he enters her room, strips down and offers his services, she says come're bad boy and they play hide the salami all night long). But fortunately, the story fleshed out nicely after that initial sexcapade was out of the way. Nico came off as rather creepy and obsessive at times, which I'm pretty sure was part of the point of his character, but he was off the reservation with his feelings about Abigail.

She was excellent…so strong and alpha in her own right, having survived the loss of her fiancé and subsequent future the two of them had envisioned. I felt off kilter when the truth was revealed about Pete, truly shocked after Abigail waxed poetic about their perfect relationship. I won't get into the salacious details since you should experience the surprise for yourself, but suffice to say, it's a doozy!

The sex between Abigail and her giant hunk of Marine yumminess was wicked erotic, though surprisingly vanilla…another off balance feeling from Ms. St. Como! The action portion of the book was well done, though not exactly suspenseful since you're given the "who" pretty quickly. Even so, SAVING NICO was a terrific read and a fabulous addition to the Men of Sanctuary Series.

Bottom Line: Scorching hot sex, adrenaline pumping action and a killer storyline make for one great read.
