She'll either enslave his heart…or tear it out
As an Amazon warrior, a slave is the last thing Kyme would ever willingly become. At least before the slaver Arsenius threatens her sisters. To protect them, she agrees to be his captive and plans to slit his throat the moment she gets the chance. Though she's determined to hate Arsenius, the unexpected kindness of his touch and the growing passion between them stay her knife. He's a man so dangerous she just might dare to trust him.

He's endured every torture, except the one that could actually break him
For Arsenius, his mission was simple—capture and deliver one of the fiercest Amazon warriors, Kyme. In exchange, he'll receive the location of the sister he's spent years searching for. But Kyme's selfless dedication to the goddess Artemis entrances him. Her pure existence is so different from his dark past and the bleak life he now leads. When Kyme becomes master and his heart the slave, nothing will stop Arsenius from failing his mission.

Sometimes, the surest path to freedom is forged in ecstasy
Possessing Kyme as his slave isn't enough. Arsenius wants more. When the gods intervene, they'll risk more than their duty to the past to be together…Yet never has surrender been so sweet.

Will the whims of the Gods allow them happiness or strip them of everything? She has always sacrificed for others. Now, she is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and give up her life to save others. He will do anything to save his sister. He will even give up his chance at love and happiness. Is their love strong enough to withstand all the dangers they face, including their own fears?

Kyme is a fierce Amazon warrior. She has devoted herself to her Goddess. They fight for all women and fear nothing. The Amazon women live a life mostly separated from men. They only use the men to procreate and any male children are sent to live with their fathers. Kyme has been given a special gift and in order to keep that gift, she must remain a virgin. She has sacrificed the idea of children and even the touch of a man. When she is kidnapped by a slaver, she leaves without a fight in order to protect the lives of her younger sisters.

Arsenius was once a slave but now is a wealthy slave trader. He captures the fiercest races and sells them for a tidy profit. He has a personal mission this time. If he can bring Kyme to his buyer, he will get the information he has been seeking for years on the location of his missing sister. He won't let anything jeopardize his mission. It is hard for Arsenius to resist the temptations of Kyme but he knows he must. The buyer wants her to remain pure.

I do enjoy stories of the Gods and Goddesses and this one is all about those mythical beings. It takes place in a time when most humans have given up their beliefs in the Gods and the other races hide their abilities from them. Arsenius is the son of a God but has no great love of them and their capricious natures. He has sought his father's assistance in rescuing his sister and in escaping his capture from the slavers and received no mercy from him. While he might be physically free, his capture and abuse by his masters haunt him every day.

The story is a really an old style adventure on the high seas and more of a historical romance. As they travel aboard his ship, they encounter all kinds of lands and creatures. The men on his ship are for the most part pirates though his first mate is a Centaur. There are battles, whores, a tavern fight, and a kidnapping that requires a dramatic rescue. There is plenty of time for romance too. These two have a hard time keeping away from one another and the tension builds as they try to deny their feelings.

If you enjoy the myths you have read about the Greek Gods and Goddesses and an old style romance, this is a great choice for you. Kyme is an Amazonian who has a special gift in return for her remaining pure and untouched. Arsenius is the son of a God and has suffered tremendous abuse. He only wants to find his sister and ensure her safety and never expected to fall for his slave. While their goals initially clash, their desires ignite immediately. They have to take great risks if they want the ultimate reward.

Having watched the Hercules – The Legendary Journeys starring Kevin Sorbo television series I had imagines of that program played in my mind as I read this book. Naturally the program didn't contain any of the well written hot, steamy sex scenes this book contains, nor did the passion although there hit the same level.

Having an Amazon woman, Kyme, while she's still mortal, being the female protagonist in the story and Arsenius, a godlike alpha male made for an entertaining love-hate relationship between the two especially when the Gods get involved with it with a plan of their own.

I truly enjoyed how the author took would might have been an interesting modern day romance added in mythology with a touch of fantasy to give her readers a story of a hot alpha male and an adept Amazon woman who had the ability of giving him a real challenge in the game of love. Who's going be the winner, or will it end in a tie, I'm not saying; read the book to find out. Which is why I'm given 5 STARS to this book.
