With a covert deployment beckoning, Luke Gray is certain death is near. The sandbox has been kind to him in the past, but sure his luck has run out, he starts to pull away from his nearest and dearest—lovers, Josh and Gia.
As a Brigadier General, Josh isn't at home as much as he'd like, and living in an unusual relationship makes his baby girl ripe for bullying. Coming face to face with prejudice is nothing new, but having to deal with his sins being visited upon his daughter is another thing entirely.
Hiding the fact she's a bestselling gay romance author from her lovers makes life a little unusual for Gia, but she's living a dream—she's the stuffing in a bisexual relationship between two of the strongest men she's ever known.
When news of Luke's deployment breaks, when the aftermath of her daughter's bullying hits home, all Gia can do is regroup and protect the unorthodox family she's helped to create. In this case, a glass slipper won't work any magic, but a gold ring holds promises Luke desperately needs. Will a wedding save their small unit or will it be the tipping point?

*Sigh* I honestly can't get enough of this author. Every. Single. Thing. she puts out is incredible, and THE LUCK OF LOVE is no exception.
What started as a surrogate situation for Josh and Lucas has turned into a loving menage relationship between the men and Gia Jefferson. But Lucas has started to doubt his place in the threesome, so it makes Josh's proposal to him even more important. Lucas is being deployed, for the fifth time, and he's certain his luck won't hold out anymore. In a perfect world, Lucas would be able to marry both Josh and Gia, their daughter Lexi wouldn't face nasty bigotry in school, his father wouldn't be a coldhearted asshole, and he wouldn't be headed into a war zone. But it's not a perfect world, and Gia knows it's up to her to hold their family together in any and every way she knows how.
THE LUCK OF LOVE is another incredible offering by the enormously talented Ms. Akeroyd, and I can't even express how much I adored it! It was off-putting at first to jump into a long established relationship with little backstory, but it didn't matter, Ms. Akeroyd's knack for writing those intimate moments between couples that take years to develop just made the story come together brilliantly. Gia, Josh and Lucas were a fantastic trio, a true symbiotic relationship as she called it. Their chemistry was second to none, their sex scenes even more so. I mean seriously, channeling my inner Chandler Bing here, can the sex scenes BE any hotter!? The love was palpable between them: Lucas' fear of dying while deployed, Josh's frustration with him, his adoration of Lucas, Gia and Lexi, Gia's mama bear on the warpath…all spoke to an intimacy that the straightest, most vanilla person in the world wouldn't help but swoon over.
And, it wasn't just the sex that I adored, it's that this author has the ability to make what would seem mundane day to day BS into something sweet, sensual, erotic, funny, heartwarming, gut wrenching and all the more excellent for its sheer spellbinding ordinary-ness. But, and it's a big BUT, I need more!!!! When I realized time was running out on the book and Lucas hadn't yet been deployed, I'll admit I started to sweat! It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger ending…but it left me desperate for more from this intriguing trio.
Bottom Line: I'm not above begging, PLEASE give us more on this unconventional and awesome family unit!!!
