Ashley hates Jonathan with a passion. In high school he hurt and humiliated her, and there is no way she is ever going to leave herself vulnerable to a man again. She just never expected to see him again. Now he's her boss, and she has to keep the distance between them. She has to—for her own sanity.
Jonathan's biggest regret was hurting Ashley in high school, and now he would do anything to win back her trust. When she pushes him, he can't hold back, and demands she give him four months. If he can't get her to fall for him in four months, he'll back off and she'll never have to see him again.
Taking the deal, Ashley never expects to fall in love again, nor does she expect to crave his touch. This is Jonathan's one chance to win back the woman he loves. Will Ashley give in, or will he fail to win her back?

Ashley Gates is the one who got away. When Jonathan Cook sees the opportunity to catch her again, he knows he will only have ONE CHANCE. Author Sam Crescent pens a sizzling tale of a woman who is afraid of what she wants and a man determined to change her mind.
As the third book in the FRIENDS, MEN & SECRETS series, this can be read as a standalone. However, to get maximum enjoyment, I would recommend starting at the beginning in order to get a solid back story. Because the characters are recurring, it's important to stay in sequence.
Ashley is very much a conflicted character. Torn between her heart and her head, she resists Jonathan's efforts. It takes some help from her friends before Ashley can find the courage to take a chance.
There are plenty of minor storylines moving forward to set the stage for future installments of the series. Even as readers are caught up in Ashley and Jonathan, there are some interesting things happening with Connie.
Packed with sizzling heat, it is obvious there is plenty of chemistry between the characters. It is a departure from the typical Sam Crescent MC stories, but all the trademark erotic heat is evident.
