It's a Dom's job to protect his girl.

No one believes that more than Jonas Sorenson. So when he sees the shy little sub he has been trying to get close to for ages up for auction on the Club Spectrum stage, there's only one Dom who will get her—him.

Rissa Nauenburg hates being the center of attention, so being on show in the auction proves too much for her. Caught in the middle of a panic attack, she has no time to appreciate the fact the one Dom she has been secretively lusting after for ages has won her.

Her distress makes Jonas more determined to protect her. It's perfectly obvious to Jonas that someone in her past has hurt Rissa badly. Under the terms of the auction she is his for twenty four hours at least.

It's game on to rebuild Rissa's confidence and Jonas plays for keeps.

All Rissa has to do is let him…

When we first meet Rissa Nauenburg, she looks as though she's about to faint, as she's auctioned off to the highest bidder at Club Spectrum. Up steps Jonas Sorenson, who quickly shuts down the bidding with the highest bid and rescues her as she collapses. What ensues is the development of a D/s relationship with Jonas as a Daddy Dom, as he works to get under Rissa's defenses, find out what happened to her, and watch her grow and mature into a much more confident woman.

Ms. O'Connor does an excellent job of humanizing her characters, as we are witness to other D/s couples who significantly help to round out the various personalities that encompass the D/s community.

The obvious and growing attraction between Rissa and Jonas is well done, the BDSM and sex scenes are downright scintillating, and overall, I found it completely enjoyable.

The one downside I found was that there were numerous errors in terms of pronouns--his instead of her, he instead of she, etc., which made it difficult to keep track of who was doing what at times. Since I received a free copy, it may simply be an earlier version and please don't let it detract you from this sensual read.

AUCTIONED TO THE PROTECTIVE DOM by Doris O'Connor is book 4 in the Spectrum Auctions series and reads as a standalone novel. Lovers of Littles, Shibari, spanking, and spicy sex scenes will thoroughly enjoy this story.
